A/N: The characters are not OC’s they can be fantasy characters or real people. They can or cannot be a mix, too!
The friends agreed that History could have been a lot worse if the teacher wasn’t so nice.
The teacher was all smiles, and she wasn’t afraid to crack a joke now and then. But seriously, who would choose a career of teaching what seemed like the most boring thing on earth? Oooh, look, Egypt had rocks. Wow, we never knew that fact! What an enlightening class. They had big, dusty textbooks with paragraphs and paragraphs on how many dynasties china had, or what rulers of egypt were the most violent. It was duller than a dull gray, blunt pencil point. Which is already dull enough, so that’s saying a lot!
But all three friends had to perk up when they heard the first assignment. It was to create a civilization from nothing but your own imagination. “This will be easy, I’ve been doing this my whole life,” Sirena whispered to Raina and Sela. The two of them quickly agreed that the project would be simple for imaginative bookworms like them. However their large hopes were soon crushed. “Class, though this project is very loose there will be a few guidelines,” the teacher, Ms. Teresa cheerfully mentioned. “Guidelines are basically a fancy way of saying rules and rules are horrible,” Sirena grumbled.
It was here that even the most cheerful teacher in the world would have a droning voice.
“Effort...blah blah blah….Presentation...blah blah blah…”
The teacher droned on, and the three girls groaned and hid their heads. Raina yawned, and Narayon, who was sitting at the desk at her left side poked her.
“No sleeping in class.” he said in a high, reedy, irritating voice. Sela shot a look at him and decided this was the perfect opportunity to take a snipe at him. “Hypocritical advice, for someone whose brain has been sleeping his whole life.”
Sirena muttered to Sela, “Don’t start lecturing Raina on how good coffee is, now.”
Raina looked like she wanted to snap Narayon’s spine in half. “Nobody asked you! I can’t stand having you in our row!” He sneered. “Nobody asked, but you need my advice.”
The pair of stalkers looked in consternation at what might be an impossible ship, but Sirena, ever the optimist said, “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” Sela glanced at her schedule. “This couple has lots of time to be built. Poor things, they have four periods together.” Sirena sighed “Oh well, it’s good for us,”
“Ugh! I can’t stand Narayon! He’s so annoying and nosy!” Raina complained as the three friends wearily trudged to seventh period. Sirena and Sela quickly glanced at each other.
“Never mind that. How was your day so far?” Kiara quickly changed the subject.
“It was pretty good. I met up with some of my old friends. My teachers are relatively nice. So far, today has been pretty easy. After all, since it’s the first day most of the teachers spent the whole class talking introducing their class,” Sirena absentmindedly replied. After all, she was reading while walking, a necessary skill for bookworms.
“My day was relatively the same although slightly worse. Oh yeah! I forgot to mention. Apparently Raina, Sirena and I have 4 classes together. You have two of those four classes with us,” Sela noted.
“Aw, no fair,” Kiara grumbled
“You should be thankful. That little brat Narayon is also in all four of our classes. Besides, you have lunch with us as well,” Raina tried to cheer Kiara up. And so they continued on into their next class: Math, or more specifically, Algebra.
