Another Fine School Day (Chapter 1: Joyless)

Gray Harbor Middle School for Dangerously Observant Youths: Hiring monstrous psychopaths as faculty since 1987.
Hellen began as a comic insert for my school's (Southern Maine Community College) end-of-semester newspaper. I wrote about 18 pages of story, but wound up having to cut the three-act introductory story I wrote off at the halfway point due to the impending deadline and printer limitations. I was also still learning a lot about how to draw a comic as I was making it, and really, I still am. As such, some of the art in these first nine pages will feel a little rushed. My hope is that by releasing these on a weekly basis, I can build a larger backlog of completed pages given adequate time and focus.
