Everyone has heard the story of King Arthur and his knights... or so they think. While many have made wonderful adaptations, they miss some major details. Allow me to show you what really happened...
Our story begins in what is now Westminster, England, in a small kingdom. An Elderly King, named Uther, Kathryn's Grandfather. May God, Allah, or whatever deity/deities the person reading this worships bless his soul. He was... kind of grey. He was not that bad of a man, but he wasn't necessarily that good either. In a time of war, with the help of Merlin, he disguised himself as another guy to get with said other guy's wife, Ygraine. yeah, scratch my previous statement. He wasn't grey. He was just a plain out jerk. Anyways, when he did get with Ygraine, (the namesake for Kathryn's middle name) A child was born. A boy named Arthur, who would later become Kathryn's father. We know the rest of the story, right? Arthur pulls his sword out of a stone? Check. Arthur forms the Knights of the Round Table? Check. Arthur marries Guinevere (Kathryn's mother)? Check. Guinevere cheats on Lancelot? No. Is Mordred (Kathryn's half-brother) the son of Arthur and his half-sister? EW, NO! That would have been the definition of gross. Mordred was actually the child of Guinevere and Lancelot. I know, you are probably asking, "But didn't you just say that Guinevere didn't cheat on Arthur with Lancelot?" My answer, there is a reason Lancelot ended up being banned from alcohol, and not just because it destroys your liver, but more for the fact that when you have too much, you make stupid decisions. Yep, Mordred is simply the effect of a stupid decision, but he wasn't Guinevere's first child. Many tend to forget Arthur's eldest child. You may have heard me mention her name several times in this intro. Yep, Kathryn. You probably are wondering, "WHO THE HECK IS KATHRYN?" Well, my friend, Kathryn is the protagonist of this story!
