The boy ran past me, leaving me standing there, confused, until it clicked in place. A.S.H. was here. The kid I met a while ago, Castor, ran to the entrance of the hideout, motioning me to follow. “Hurry! We don’t have much time!”
I ran to him, my mind a whirl of thoughts. “How did they find us?”
He shrugged. “I don't know. But stay here and alert us if anything comes near. I'm going to find Becca and Arsh.” I nodded, looking out the entrance.
“Thanks!” He smiled, running backward. “Err…”
“Kallisto!” I called after him. He raised his hand in an OK sign and ran in Ava’s direction.
I watched the entrance, carefully scanning the area. Soldiers clad in armour walked down in the direction to the hideout. I took in a sharp breath and turned, face to face with Becca. “Becca! They're here. We have to evacuate.”
She scowled. “We? Look sister, I don't even know if you're one of us.”
I let out an exasperated groan and took off running.
“Ava!” I caught her running out from a room, her face an expression of fear.
“Oh my god, Kallisto. We have to go. Now.”
I took her hand and ran to the entrance, where Becca and the boys were waiting.
“Gathered them while you were gone. Now let's go?”
Jax nodded curtly. “Kallisto, you move with Castor. Arsh, Becca. I'll move with Ava. Nobody gets left behind, you hear me? No one. Let's move.”
The boy who guided me to the entrance-Castor, took my hand. “How fast can you run, Kallisto?” He smirked.
I laughed. “Watch and learn.”
And that was when colour exploded before my very vision.
