Kenny woke up to the sound of Kat cussing and Brooks sniffling, not the best noises to wake up to. "Holy shit," Kenny groaned, clenching his eyes shut in pain.
"Fucking finally! You took forever to wake up!" Kenny desperately wished he was somehow able to close his ears at that moment. He opened his eyes to see a furious Kat.
She was seated in front of him on an everyday metal bench connected to the wall. Kenny sat up, realizing he had been laying on a bench also attached to the wall.
His head had been resting on Brooks' lap, who was now looking at him with relieved eyes. She closed the gap and hugged him tightly, nearly choking the poor man by hugging him too tightly to her chest.
"Brooks," Kenny didn't want to be rude and push, but he needs air. He could hair Kat laughing yet still releasing a few cusses about the aliens.
"Are you ok, Kenny?" Brooks finally let go of Kenny; the man took in a deep gulp of air once he was freed from Brooks' hug. "Yeah, what happened after I was knocked out?" Kenny leaned forward, eager to find out what had happened.
From what he could see Kat and Brooks were not harmed, but he can't say the same for the rest of the crewmates since they are not in the cell.
There was also the fact that it looked like all of them had been stripped of their spacesuits, and left in only their casual clothes they all wore beneath.
Kat angrily responded, "The bastards just threw us over their shoulders. They're tall freaks with tails!" Kenny sighed and shook his head at Kat's answer.
"Brooks?" He turned to his friend with more sensibility and common sense. "They brought us here, and we have been here for probably about three hours now." Brooks ran a hand through her midnight hair.
"Do you have any info on them? Besides the fact that their species is taller than us, and they have tails." Kenny sat against the wall, paying attention to Brooks while also managing to be alert.
He finds it suspicious that there seems to be no one guarding the door and there are no signs of any cameras in the room.
"They seem to have a different number of fingers. Some appeared to have six, and some had five like us. That isn't too different though," Brooks bit her lip- lost in thought as she began to think over everything that they have seen so far.
"So that's it, then." Kenny frowned. That isn't a lot of information. At least the fingers point to the aliens being a tad humanoid. "I have to go to the bathroom," Kat suddenly grumbled.
She stood up with irritation evident on her face and began to pace the medium sized cell. "Seriously? You have to go at a time like this?" Kenny's voice was laced with disbelief.
He couldn't believe she had to do this now, of all times. "It's nature, Kenny. You're a biologist- you should know that." Kat crossed her arms and glared at her friend.
Brooks was still absent, lost in thought, not bothering to tune in to her two friends bickering. "Oh c'mon, Kat. We are stuck in a cell. Where the hell will you go?!" Kenny stood up, becoming irate also.
Kat opened her mouth, ready to bicker back when all froze as the thud of footsteps approached them. Brook looked up, leaving her thoughts to look at the cell door with a fearsome expression.
"Hurry, against the wall." Kenny ushered both of his fellow crewmates to stand as far away from the door as possible. Kenny, Brooks, and Kat all put their backs to the wall and faced the door.
"Janner? Foru, tern iya vlat." There were two of them. They stood side by side, only a few inches from the door. Now, the humans could see their faces since they weren't wearing those helmets anymore.
Their faces were sharper and much more angled. What stood out the most was the pair of horns that both aliens had. The horns were almost like the horns of a bull. They protruded from above their pointed ears and curved back then to the front so that the dangerously sharp points glinted intimidatingly beside their eyes.
Their skins tones were strange yet similar. Both had ashen grey skin tones, but they had these marks on their skin that glowed brightly. Kenny could see that they both had tails that almost reached their ankles, swinging behind them.
"Kavar." One spoke up, and the other nodded. They pulled out those weapons earlier that had knocked out Kenny and everyone else with a single shot. Kat cursed under her breath, and Kenny scowled at the two aliens.
"Kavar!" It spoke again and gestured to Kenny. "I think it wants you to go with them," Brooks murmured. The two aliens watched them, their eyes glowing like the markings on their bodies.
"No, fuck them." Kat cussed and angrily glared at the two aliens. They seemed to realize, and Kat's friends couldn't do anything in time to stop them from shooting a beaming light at Kat, and she was down like a light.
"Fuck, Kat!" Kenny stood still, the aliens were now pointing their weapons at him. Brooks crouched down to check on Kat, and released a breath of relief when she heard Kat's heartbeat. "She's okay, Kenny." Brooks looked up at him.
Kenny released a breath through his nose, clenching his fists. "I'm going to go." Kenny slowly walked towards the door. Brooks didn't object. She knew they were going to take Kenny anyways- even if they had to knock all three of them out.
Kenny made it to the door hesitantly, staring at the two aliens who stared at him in return. One kept the weapon pointed at Kenny while the other opened the metal door for Kenny to walk through.
He stayed silent as he did so, not showing any expression when the one pointed the weapon right at his back, and the other led the way.
Only the distant thrum of machinery and their footsteps could be heard as they walked through hallways that all looked the same to Kenny. Kenny grimaced when they turned a corner, and he saw another door, but two aliens guarded this one. When they were only a few feet away from these aliens, the aliens began to converse among each other, the entire time Kenny still felt the nose of the weapon against his back.
These aliens were similar in skin tone, they had the same glowing marks, same glowing eyes, but their horns were a bit different. They protruded from the same place, above their pointy ears, but they pointed to the back instead of curving around to the front.
They had their weird tails also, complete with a little barb on the end that slightly creeped Kenny out. The door slid open, and Kenny was easily pushed in by the taller beings.
Judging from the different colors on each alien so far, it must be purely unique to each of them. A gasp escaped his lips from what he saw. There were so many of them. Some had massive horns, some had small ones, and the markings on each alien was different and unique.
Kenny noticed that their eyes always seem to be the same color that their markings are. Both colors glow fiercely. Kenny released a grunt as he was pushed down onto his knees, and one of the aliens tugged his hair back to keep his face up.
The large crowd of aliens began to split, a group of other aliens easily coming through the crowd and the others made way for them. There were three of them. Kenny could tell that they must be like their leaders or something, judging from how respectful the aliens were to them.
One had to be albino or something of that sort because its skin was a pale pearlescent color, and its eyes and markings were a bright cherry red. It was female, but Kenny can't say for sure because these aliens may have a different system for such things. Her horns protruded above her long ears and rose to the sky, almost forming a diamond, but between the two points of her horns hovered a gleaming red orb.
She led the group of the three, and behind her were two aliens who were just as unique compared to the other aliens that parted for them.
Kenny was intimidated the most by the one on the albino's right. It appeared to be male and was honestly scary in Kenny's opinion. The scary alien's eyes and markings were a blazing amber that showed the creature's fierceness. The sides of his head were shaved, but he had lustrous white hair at the top that reached his mid back that contained a few braids.
His markings weren't as colorful though- compared to the others. His markings were a pale tan that contrasted greatly against his dark mocha skin.
Just adding to the alien's intimidation, he held one of those high-tech guns, with his finger resting lightly on what Kenny believes is a trigger for the gun. Kenny moved his attention to the other, and he gasped when he saw it was holding Ollie.
Ollie was awake and appeared very pale as they held onto the tablet that they had used from earlier to contract with the aliens. "Ollie!" Kenny struggled against the hand in his hair, but he winced in pain when the creature harshly twisted his fingers tighter into his hair.
Ollie struggled in the alien's arms, who seemed to become aggravated by their movement. "Kenny!" Ollie managed to wiggle free, but the creature caught hold of Ollie's throat and firmly held the translator in place.
"Opar! Brex soz priv." The one holding Ollie spoke up, shaking Ollie and gesturing to the tablet. Kenny's eyes flickered to the side to see one of the aliens holding a similar device and simultaneously glancing up at Ollie.
"Kenny, they want me to translate," Ollie spoke up calmly, so the alien that held them by their throat didn't shake them again. "Got it," Kenny would have nodded if it weren't for the giant hand twisted in his hair.
Ollie tapped a few times on the screen, a cloud of silence encasing the entire room as everyone seemed to hold their breath. "Ok, so they are saying that they will have our engineer, Kat, make multiple copies of this tablet."
Kenny nodded, that makes perfect sense, and is indeed a relief. That means they plan on speaking and that is really the best thing that Kenny could have hoped for.
"And we will be assigned to an alien to watch over us..." Ollie frowned, glancing out of the corner of their eye to look at the albino alien skeptically. She nodded at their person who held a tablet for them.
"The aliens will be our shadow as we will be theirs." Ollie cleared their throat uncomfortably, not liking the idea, and Kenny was frowning in discomfort at the thought.
Would he be stuck with some alien? Twenty-four seven? Kenny released a deep breath, pushing those thoughts aside. This is good though, Kenny knows very well that things could have gone very bad, very quickly.
The crew can just lay low and be good. "That's fine, please tell them that the crew will be grateful for this opportunity." Kenny is no amateur when it comes to being polite. Some of the places he went had primitive tribes that he had to stay on good terms with and earn their trust.
