The Weeping Willow

A Knight's Honor, A Friend's Loyalty

A Knight's Honor, A Friend's Loyalty

Jun 02, 2018

The three jumped at the scream, then Luke recognized the scream as Rhapsody.

“Rhapsody!” Luke screamed as he ran off. Reluctantly Marcus and Diana followed behind.

“Rhapsody! Rhapsody!”

Luke couldn’t find her, he searched all over. He was just about to give up, when he heard a small creak. It came from the kitchen. Startled and curious Luke went to investigate he was careful and quiet until a figure burst through the door; it crashed into Luke causing him to fall. Fighting the pain Luke at the figure and immediately recognized it as Rhapsody.

“Rhapsody!” He said standing up.

“Luke!” They hugged each other in relief and happiness.

“Excuse me,” Diana interrupted, “but what is all this noise? And why were you screaming in the middle of the night?”

Rhapsody shuddered, “The young master.”

“What? What about my son? Speak woman!” Just then Jake came down the stairs with only Emily by his side.

“Jake, you’re okay, and you found Emily.”

“Yes, but I can’t find Billy.” Frustrated Diana marched into the kitchen.

“My Lady! No!” When she walked in she saw her only son lying on the floor with a small wound to his head.

Shocked Diana screamed, “AAHH! MY CHILD!” Everyone ran in and saw Billy on the floor, even Emily, whose eyes were blocked by Jake at the last second.

“Who did this?!” She shouted.

“His fate was sealed.”

“Who said that?”

“That’s the same voice Jake and I heard. Who are you? Or better yet, where are you?”

Soon his question was answered and a black figure appeared in front of them standing behind the small glimpse of moonlight that shone through the kitchen window.

“I am the Knight of Willow.” “The ‘Knight of Willow’?” “Yes, I have lived in this house since the first generation of Willows ever set foot in this house.”

“Lived? Does that mean you’re alive?”

“No. My dear friend, Nicholas Willow and I were very close. Nicholas was a kind, gentle person, however his brother Oscar was the opposite. He was greedy and selfish, much like you 4. He wanted all the wealth, all the power to himself.”

“What happened?”

“I had gone out one day to get a gift for Nicholas I wanted to surprise him, but when I got back. Well, let’s just say I regret leaving Arthur alone that day.”

They all saddened at the Knight’s story except for Diana and Marcus, who only saw it as a pathetic excuse.

“That gives you no reason to murder our son!”

“Oh, but it does.”

“What?!”

“You see the person who killed Nicholas was none other than his own brother. The same greedy and selfish Oscar, who would kill his own brother for something as foolish as wealth. When I saw what he had done; I knew I had to punish him. So, I put on the very same suit of armor you see in front of you now, and I ended him.”

“But that was over a 300 years ago. How are you still here?” Luke asked with curiosity.

“Simple when I killed Oscar, I knew I had protect Arthur’s legacy from anyone as evil as him. I remained in this armor, my body grew old and withered away, but my spirit never left.”
