Hawk Frost laid awake, her head spinning with wonder and fear. All she could think about was the visions, the path, the dead bodies...what did it mean?
"Hawk Frost! C'mere!" River Stone called out, his voice crashing into her thoughts. Her head shot up, almost hitting the roof of her hallow. She looked around, her eyes meeting the hunting group. She crawled out of her hallow, stretching her legs before bounding over to them.
"Hey guys." she said, out of breath slightly. "You okay Hawk Frost?" River Stone asked, his voice concerned yet had a amused tone. "Yeah. You just startled me." she replied, a chuckle appearing in her throat. "Anyway, what did you need?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. "Well, we don't necessarily need anything, but we wanna know if you wanna come with us. It seemed like you really wanted to see outside, so if you wanna come, you can." River Stone said, a smile on his features.
Hawk Frost jumped slightly at the offer, but smiled at him. "Of course!" she barked, a smile on her face. River Stone smiled before turning and running out of the cave with the hunting group. Hawk Frost took his speed as a challenge, and smirked, chasing after him. She quickly passed him, running around in the snow. River Stone smirked at her, beginning chase towards her. He pounced onto her, causing them both to roll in the snow. Hawk Frost laughed at him, a smile on her face. She quickly stood, running back towards the group.
"Remember, you're a salutary wolf. You stick with us, and stay back." a slim female said, looking at Hawk Frost. "Give it a rest Wind Tide. She's Hawk Frost. She doesn't listen 90 percent of the time." River Stone said, a smirk on his muzzle. Wind Tide growled at him, her eyes glaring. "Well maybe she should start listening!" Wind Tide barked, her voice enraged. She growled at Hawk Frost before turning away and running off to find food.
"Don't worry about her. She's just jealous when other come with us." River Stone told her, before looking at the others. "So, Cinder Fern, you go with Mouse Wind. Ash Dust, you go with Sky Spot. Hawk Frost, you're with-" River Stone said, looking to his side, only to find Hawk Frost gone. "You guys go. I have to find her." River stone said, taking off quickly in the direction of her foot prints.
Hawk Frost had followed Wind Tide, hoping to find out something about her. She looked around for her, not being able to find her immediately. Hawk Frost kept looking, hoping to find the slim hunter. Her ears twitched to the sound of fighting, and ran towards it. Her vision slowly started to turn white, causing her to shake her head. "Not again!" she growled to herself, stopping at a cliffs edge. She looked down towards the racket, only to find a mountain lion fighting Wind Tide.
Hawk Frost's fur stood on end as she saw Wind Tide get slung into a nearby tree. She jumped down, pouncing on the back of the big cat, hearing it yowl in disagreement. Hawk Frost latched her teeth into it's neck, her claws tearing at it's back. She held on tightly, not letting go. She felt a large paw swipe at her, pulling her off the big at and get flung into the tree. She got up quickly, growling at the large creature.
She ran around it, dodging the swipes from it, and jumping back on. Hawk Frost clawed at it's legs before latching onto its neck again, tugging at the skin. Hawk Frost tasted the blood in her mouth, she almost choked by how much there was.
She kept clawing at it's back, tearing off fur and flesh. Wind Tide watched in amazement, and took her leap. She jumped onto the snout of the large mountain lion, clawing at its eyes and biting it's snout. Hawk Frost took notice of her, and mentally smiled. She kept clawing at the back of the puma, while Wind Tide attacked the face. Hawk Frost jumped off as she noticed a swipe going towards her, making sure to not fall face first in the snow.
Hawk Frost looked up at Wind Tide who was still latched to the mountain lions face. Wind Tide clawed and bit as hard as she could, making sure to draw blood. Hawk Frost watched in amazement, only to see blood splattered on her own face. She shook it off, and looked up at the cause, which was Wind Tide. Hawk Frost could see a large gash on Wind Tide's side, and watched as she fell to the ground.
Hawk Frost ran to her side, guarding her from the giant cat. She growled deeply at the large animal, her tail whipping behind her. Hawk Frost watched as it raised a paw to strike, but quickly fell to the ground. Hawk Frost took a step closer, confused by the action. She saw that is was bleeding out, and so was Wind Tide.
Hawk Frost walked to Wind Tide, helping her up. She laid the injured wolf on her back, and grabbed the neck of the big cat. She dragged them both back to the cave, having a little difficult with climbing back up the cliff.
"Listen, we have to go out and find those two!" Skipping Stone yelped, her paws shaking. She heard mumbles from everyone, and she smiled at everyone, hoping they were agreeing. "Alright, Cinder Fern, Ash Dust, Sky Spot, you're with me." River Stone said seeing them nod. "Um, River Stone? Do we have to just walk to the water fall?" Cinder Fern asked him, watching as he turned to face the fall.
Hawk Frost walked in with a bloody Wind Tide and a dead mountain lion. She laid the lion in the food pile, and bounded off to her hallow to heal the injured she-wolf. River Stone followed her, looking closely at his hunting partner. "I can't help her if you keep hovering over her." Hawk Frost said, looking up at him with a smirk. River Stone gave her a joking glare, and stopped. "Let me know if she is in critical condition...okay..?" he said, looking down at Wind Tide. "Okay lover boy. Now go!" Hawk Frost said, a smirk on her face. She saw him smile as he left, leaving her and Wind Tide alone.
She wrapped the wound in moss, and put a few small stones on it to stop the blood. Hawk Frost smiled at the hunter, and watched her stir awake. "Ugh...what happened..?" Wind Tide groaned out, looking around, her amber eyes meeting indigo blue ones. Hawk Frost told her what happened, and watched as her face showed amazement. "You helped me....? Wow....thank you..." Wind Tide mumbled, her face slightly red with embarrassment. Hawk Frost noticed, and smiled at the hunter. "It was nothing. I just wanted to make sure you were okay." she told her, standing to her paws.
Hawk Frost picked up the she-wolf and put her in her hallow. "Wait..where are you gonna sleep...?" Wind Tide asked, her voice confused and raspy. Hawk Frost answered the question by laying down next to the hallow. She smiled at the hunter, and turned away to not face her. Little did she know, Wind Tide had smiled back. Hawk Frost felt something pull her into the hallow slightly, and quickly looked it. She saw that Wind Tide had pulled her in, and fell asleep from exhaustion. She smiled at the larger female, and rested her head on her own paws, letting sleep take over her body. She had enough adventure for one day.
