Jutte wandered around the town, as she did when she felt lost. For whatever reason, she felt a sense of security when she did this. Suddenly, she saw a familiar face.
“Yūki, is that you?” Jutte asked as she rushed over to her.
“Oh… Hello, Jutte…” Yūki said.
Yūki wore her normal military uniform, with the jacket tied around her waist. The uniform was relatively simple, a gray overcoat with matching pants and a black undershirt. The pants and the coat had many different pockets in various locations.
“What brings you here, Yūki?” Jutte asked, folding her arms across her chest.
“Uhm… Babies…” Yūki replied.
Jutte looked at Yūki confused, “Babies, you say? Are you having one?” Jutte asked, slightly concerned.
“Maiko is bringing one right now…” Yūki said.
Suddenly, Maiko came rushing out from around the corner with a cat in her arms, “Yūki I got it! It was super easy to get, too!”
Maiko’s light hazel hair bounced off of her shoulders and her bright blue eyes shined, seeming to reflect the sun.
Maiko handed the cat to Yūki, “It is the cutest thing ever, right?” Maiko asked Yūki, both of them seemed very excited to see the cat.
Yūki beamed, “It is the cutest thing ever, I love it! What is the cat's name?”
Maiko smirked, “I thought of this long and hard on my way over here since it is so cute, I want to name it Yūki!”
Yūki grinned from ear to ear, “Maiko, I love you! And I love the cat! Both of you are cute!”
Yūki rubbed her face against the cats fine and soft fur. She was in complete bliss, one of her dreams was to own as many cats as she could.
Jutte laughed, “Yūki, you and Maiko are cute together, I like it!”
Yūki looked towards Jutte, “Jutte… You look like you are about to cry… Are you okay?” Yūki asked.
Jutte wiped her eyes. She was not crying, she would not allow herself to cry. Otherwise, she might revert to how she was when she was younger, spineless and obedient. She wanted to be neither of those things.
“Of course I am not cryingー,” Jutte said, “I am just… Uhm… Watering my eyes… They were dry and hurting.”
Maiko laughed, “Yeah, sure they were! Anyway, Yūki, we should go to the bakery and buy some sweets! For you and the cat!”
Yūki’s eyes widened and she nodded furiously, “Yes, bakery! I love sweets! Baby needs sweets, too!”
Maiko and Yūki exchanged goodbyes with Jutte and walked off, leaving Jutte to wander the town on her own. Jutte noticed that the town had seemed to lose its color, the noises from the city seemed softer, and the smells of the various stores were duller than they had been before.
