"They weren't sure when these children were to be born but it would seem the mother of these children had visions after the first trimester, just random visions here and there during the pregnancy showing what the evil was and the four of you bringing good back to the land. When your mother described it she said she wasn't sure how but when she saw it she just knew what you were destined for, she knew Darklyn was the great evil but she didn't know how to prove it. When we discussed it we decided it would be best to wait it out until you were 15 so not to but us in unnecessary danger but Darklyn sensed the power in you. Not only the power of your blood but also the power within your soul. His proximity to the royal family as a whole stopped our plans in its tracks. When we discovered he found out we tried to get you to Songe where they had an old friend of your fathers who fell into obscurity to take you in and fake your death. They planned on eventually joining you whence everything died down and Darklyn was lulled into a false sense of security. Alas things didn't go as planned." Miss Margaret said solemnly.
"How will I know how to find the other kids?" Logan croaked out. Logan would never forget the events of that day, nothing would ever be the same. He knew hardship lay ahead but, he couldn't let his parents down. They had faith in him, how would he face them in the thereafter if he ignores his destiny.
"After today you will start to experience visions telling you where to go. The only thing I know is there is a bowman in our neighbor country to the west with abilities that seem almost supernatural. Now I don't know what your ability is but I assume it has something to do with how you so easily cleaned Shadow's stall this morning. You don't have to tell me what but just know you are the blood of kings, it's your destiny to point them in the right direction, keep them on the straight and narrow, just like the kids here who respect and admire your strength despite your great hardships. You can leave in the morning that way you can have a proper send off, I know it's a lot but you can do it I have faith. " she finished proudly. She pat him on the head before leaving Logan to process
Logan went to his room to pack some things, purposely avoiding everyone on the way. He packed three pairs of clothes two pairs of socks and a sweater in case it got cold. He also packed two bars of soap and some dried herbs just incase. He grabbed his favourite books and headed out. He didn't want to leave his family but, if what Miss Margaret said is right he has no choice. He took all his new gifts strapping the sword belt to his waist placing his new sword and dagger inside their loops he wrapped his cloak around himself. He had no intentions of seeing his family before he left, he didn't think he could leave otherwise.
Logan had reached the stables just narrowly avoiding a group of boys gathering firewood from the forest. Glad he new the stables so well he didn’t need a light to know the way to the supplies needed for shadow.
Logan put the new saddle on Shadow, loaded his luggage and lead the horse out of the stables. He made his way through the yard toward the gate, hoping Shadow’s white fur wouldn’t attract the other kids. He barely made it past the gate when a voice sounded behind him.
“And where do you think you are going mister Miles?” He closed his eyes and cursed, he was almost made it out unnoticed.
“Alice, please don’t try to stop me I’ve got to go.” His voice barely above a whisper. He didn’t turn, afraid seeing her face would shake his resolve to leave.
“Don’t you have a bonfire to attend, just where do you think you’re going so late at night.” She scolded. Logan could almost imagine her standing there with her hands on her hips head slightly to the left. Just imagining her made him tear up.
“I have to go Alice I can’t explain, but it has to do with my birth family. I gotta go Alice I’m sorry.” He cried out jumping on to Shadow’s back bolting into town. He didn’t look back he had to get this prophecy thing over with so he can save his family's home country and come back home. Logan started head west for the bowman Miss Margaret mentioned earlier.
