"You will never amount to anything. You hear me?", Axel's mother's voice rang thru his ears. The last memory he ever shared with that woman, was when she was damning him as a failure for life. Why thou? He couldn't think why he would remember that day. Maybe because it was so vividly scared into his mind. All the dishes she broke as she threw them at him, all the insults she called him, and the marks she left on his face. That night she did something no mother should ever do to their kid.
Axel laughs away the memory, not wanting to be held down by his broken life. "Someone has to have had it worst than I did" he thought to himself. Those were the same words he kept telling himself, so as not to think about it anymore.
Besides, he was on an assignment. To kill a whistle blower.
Just on the outskirts of Moscow, Axel looked on at the big mansion that stood in the middle of a snow covered forest. He was just in arms reach, or rather, in arms reach between a building, a massive wall surrounding said building, and over a dozen or so guards. On the bright side, the darkness of night was on his side, and he can easily sneak in undetected. He looked at his watch, hoping time was also on his side.
"Only three more ours till dawn." he thought, "Better make it snappy."
Axel quickly made his way down the tree he was perched at, and to the mansion walls. The snow was thick, and would have made walking around hard for just about anyone. Axel however, was trained for moving around in the snow, and using specially designed shoes, he was able to travel fast over the thick snow. He was just about a few meters away from the mansion wall, when he stopped, letting some of the security guards walk by. Once they were out of sight, he ran straight towards the wall, and scaled over it with ease.
On the other side, there were very few guards were he landed, but that wasn't an excuse to let his guard down. He moved over to the mansion wall, and leaned up against it. Slowly making his way down towards the main entrance of the mansion, he pecked his head out of the corner of the wall, trying to get an idea of how many guards there actually were.
Just as he thought, most of the guards were inside, as he only saw a hand full outside, plus the two at the front entrance. Sliding back into the cover of darkness, he pulls out his phone from his pocket, and pulls up the schematics for the mansion. Which he stole from the building manager.
The whistle blower was most likely located in the safe room below the mansion. Axel would have to take out a few guards if they were in his way to the safe room. "Taking out a few guards won't be an issue." he thought, "the organisation would clean up any bodies that get in the way."
He quickly put away his phone and makes his way to the back door. He peaks his head out again, and sees a guard with his gun ready. Axel was not worried about it, and starts to take out his own weapon. He pulls out his Glock 9mm, and attaches a silencer to the end of the barrel. This was his trademark weapon of choice, an easily portable, ease to use gun.
Axel looked back at the guard, to see if he was still paying attention to nothing. As soon as the guard had looked away, Axel quickly sprang into action. Swiftly, but quietly, making his way beside the guard, and without a word of warning...
Bang
He shot the guard on the temple of his head. His body slumped downward, and the blood from his head flowed down the back door stairs and onto the soft snowy ground. Painting it red, like if an artist had just spilled paint to the floor.
Not wanting to waste anymore time, Axel opened to back door, and walks into a open room, with three arch ways leading to another room. Axel walks in the middle of the open room, and turns left, into a living room area were three guards were playing poker at the table, not yet noticing Axel's presence in the room. One of the guards playing poker was sitting in Axel's direction, and looked up, noticing Axel had entered to room, but by then it was to late, and Axel had already aimed his gun and opened fired on the three...
Bang, Bang, Bang...
With just threes shots he took out all three of the guards. Another guard walks out from behind the wall leading to the main room. With out any warning, Axel points his gun at the guard, and lets lose another round, killing the guard. He walks out of the living room area, and into the main room. Inside, a large staircase made of dark wood leading upstairs, and a large balcony surrounded the room above.
Axel knew his target wasn't going to be upstairs. From the schematics he read before his mission, the only way to get to the safe room was by going thru a long corridor in the middle of the mansion.
He walked across the main room, all the way towards a door leading to the corridor he needed to go down. Axel opens the door but is meet with gun with a gun to his forehead. Apparently one of the guards was already on to him. The guard looked terrified, he was shaking to by the way his gun moved as it aimed at Axel. He was still not to be taken lightly, as a scared soldier is more likely to fire at the first sign of movement shown.
"I really hate to do this to the poor guy." Axel thought to himself. He dropped his handgun, letting it his the floor, momentarily making the guard look down at the fallen handgun. This gave Axel enough time to grab the guards rifle, and shoving the butt of the rifle in his face, forcing him to real back. Axel then raised the rifle in the air and slammed it down on the guards head, knocking him out.
Now nothing stood in Axel's way to the whistle blower. He made his way down to the end of the corridor, and opened the door at the end, revealing a wooden staircase leading down. Axel made his way down the stairs, and into a stone corridor, but not as large as the one upstairs. Right in front of him was a large metal door with a keypad next to it. Axel already got the code from the building manager when he stole the schematics. he enter the four digit code...
4950
And like that, a soft buzz sound came on letting him know he open'd it. Axel pulled the metal doors handle, opening the door, revealing what's inside.
Inside was just a small bed set to the side, a couch, and a table in front. Nothing more was in there, except a cowering man.], the whistle blower. Axel step closer to the man, his gun ready in his hand. The man raised his hands in defense.
"Please," he begged, "I only did it to warn people."
He was referring to the information he leaked on the internet about America's plan to monitor social media with out anyone's consent.
Axel was never one to dive into politics, but he at least knew that what America was planning was wrong. Whether or not it was for good intentions. However, now, Axel only cared about completing the Assignment. He aimed his gun at the cowering man, and with out hesitation...
Bang
--
Outside the mansion, Axel was already a safe distance away before the security team changed shifts, and by then it would be to late. He stopped on the top of a hill over looking Moscow. Taking in the sight of the sun raising break the night. Axel took a deep breath, and said...
"I really hate my job."
