I step into my room and breathe in the familiar scent of the school. Surprisingly enough, it feels good to be back. I walk to my window, and look at the view. Same as always. The willow tree outside waving in the wind.
I sit down on my bed, and just as I beginning to unpack my stuff, I hear a knock on the door. I open the door, and see a girl standing in the door frame. She is in a cheer leading outfit (she must be freezing. It's only 15 degrees outside), and is holding a stack of flyers.
"Hi! It's the first football match of the year this coming up this week! Hope you can come!" She hands me a flyer and skips away before I have a chance to say anything. I look down at the flyer. It has a picture of the football team on it and the date of the match. Usually they just slide the flyer under the door. I normally end up discarding it immediately. I've never actually been to one of the school's football matches. Maybe I'll go this time. Actually try something new for once.
I finish unpacking my things, then lay down on my bed. I hold the flyer above my head and look at the players printed on it. I have various memories of some of them being utter dicks to me, but maybe some are nice.
The thought almost made me burst laughing. I don't talk to them, they leave me alone. It's an unspoken agreement.
