I'm sitting in the stands alone. I plucked up the courage to go, but I'm quickly regretting it. My cheeks are glowing from the cold and I can feel my nose starting to run. Since it's a night game, it's colder out than it was during the day. I also get cold very easily, so that isn't helpful. My hands are bundled into fists inside my pockets, and I'm nearly shaking. Many people are in different type of spirit wear and such. I thought about wearing school colours, but it just seems like a bother.
I've been out here for nearly twenty minutes and the match still hasn't started. What a waste of time. I planned on bringing my book along with me in case I got bored, but I left it in my room. Pity.
The lights are blaring down on the pitch so brightly, I'm certain if I was standing on it I would be blinded.
Not much has happened yet this term. Classes have barely started up and the teachers can't remember our names without a list yet. I've visited the library once so far. Carletta was glad to see me. Even though I had packed books with me, she gave me another just in case. She always tells me to keep it as long as I like. I've never had to pay an overdue book fee once.
I look back down to the pitch and wonder if the match is ever going to start.
