"Hmm..lala..hmm.hmm.." Lilac hummed peacefully while listening to the birds chirp as she went on her way to her grandmothers' house. Carrying a big basket in hand and skipping along the paved road, she concentrated on her goal, but was distracted by a lone weird white flower.
With her attention divided, she forgot her mother's reminders and went to examine the flower.
No, the flower wasn't white. It was glowing silver, as if a beacon in the middle of white winter. It was beautiful, and Lilac was captivated. Reminding herself not to be tempted to pick the flower, her grip on the basket handle tightened and just observed the beauty of the organism.
However, after a few seconds, she heard a rustle from the bushes nearby.
Lilac stilled herself and assured her subconscious that maybe it was just a squirrel, but no, the bushes kept rustling loudly and a small creature can never make that kind of rustle.
With her curiosity now more piqued, she fearlessly and innocently went over to the bush, only to see an injured large -very abnormally large wolf. Fascinated by the golden attractive eyes of the creature and the fact it was injured because of a trap, she smiled and bravely walked closely to it, until she was just a few centimeters away from the breathing wolf.
Without hesitation she released him from the trap and took out her small kit that she always kept inside her hood, and tried to mend the wounds of the wolf.
Lilac thought it was actually weird. The trap look like it can snap her bones into two, but oh well, the wolf's wounds look like as if it only made a gash. It's bleeding, but at least the wolf's bones didn't break.
"Mister Wolf, you're lucky your bones aren't affected. If it was, it would be too hard for me to carry you to a clinic--you're too heavy!" She innocently giggled at the said creature, which is now staring and observing her every move.
Lilac, feeling its stare, turned to look up at its golden eyes. To say it was attractive is an understatement, it was captivating. Too captivating for her.
"Ne, you have beautiful eyes!"
The wolf grunted, as if in a reply. Lilac's not sure if it's just her imagination, but she swore that eyes are looking at her with an emotion she doesn't know.
After tending to the wolf's wounds a little while longer, she got up, ready to leave and continue her walk to her grandmother's house.
"Well, looks like it ends here, mister wolf. I can leave you here, yeah? Just make sure you'll never be caught again!" Lilac waved a goodbye, while the said wolf gave a nod and turned around to leave.
Smiling while walking and humming to herself, she only had one thing in mind.
Aren't wolves supposed to be wild creatures?
Oh well.
