Kevin started show fear trembling. “Wait, so the whole time you were just toying with me… how? I fought with all my might, I out strength you because of my muscles; how did you win barely taking any damage?!”
Atreyu crouched down with both hands on his scuffed black denim pants. He put on his hood.
“First of all; out strength is shitty grammar. Here’s your problem when I first entered the battlefield I saw the flooring of the setting giving me an environmental advantage. This is because every time you charged at me headstrong, you unconsciously kept losing stamina due to all the rigid stones on the floor. Exerting yourself even more than necessary.
“But what does little things like that have to do with our fight?”
“Everything! Every single little factor depends on the success of a fight; from the solid surface of the earth to wind blowing in the sky! It aggravates me so much when people don’t think things through.”
Atreyu regathered his thoughts and returned to his calm disposition. He gave a large inhale from his lungs and exhaled thoroughly.
“Calm yourself Atreyu... Next you took no time to understand how my weapons work nor did you heed my warning; granted nobody understands when it’s too late especially for a marionette user like me, but still! You also underestimated me because I used an outdated weapon and my skinny physique. If you ever see someone with something unorthodox or concealed clothing, then you might want to be cautious since you don’t know what a person can do. I remodeled Phantom myself with tons of functions and weapons while your weapon is just a common bat with wrapped wire. Which is pathetic for the highest ranked school elite to use.”
Phantom gave an indifference of space to Kevin as continued trembling on the floor; he started to back away, but could barely move from the pain. The thicker cloud of poison surrounding him.
“Your fighting method on taking down others is done smugly. The biggest difference between you and I, is that no matter what I do I always make plans ahead, giving me the intricate details to work with.I am prepared for anything that comes my way. Now that I explained it enough to your feeble mind of a goldfish, it’s about high time that I finish you off.”
Kevin spoke in desperation backing away right next to the clouds.
“Wait please, I’ll stop, we can strike a deal! I’ll make sure that nobody bothers you anymore and I won’t lose my status. Like nothing ever happened, please!”
Kevin leaned on his side with his hand reaching out begging for forgiveness in blood, sweat, and tears. Atreyu moved in closer to his face.
“I know you will, but some people need to be put into their place like the rest of your friends. See I am the person that punishes the individual instead of the whole group but in this case you and all the people who think your elitism is so great, need to witness what happens when you poke a dragon with a stick. Plus I need something that your leader status has the power to obtain for future purposes.”
“Please don’t! I can make you one of us. You can be a part of something great, our reign will last for the rest of the year; it’s only autumn we can be unstoppable.”
Atreyu stood back up and giggled. Kevin was confused from his mixed expressions, but still remained anxious.
“Wow. I am so baffled by this. You elitists think that any of this school shit matters. Will your nine to five boss will care if you became the most loved person in school? The answer is no! Only few people become money making athletes since only the rich have control over all creative influences, so it's a high probability that you’ll end up like the rest, which is on the streets with the same weapon and will die before you can realize how fucked the world is. I already know what’s it’s like in this unforgiving world, hence why I have my nickname. Don’t worry I won’t kill you.” Atreyu said heartfully.
Kevin gave a relieved face.
“You won’t?”
“Nope. I’m not going to kill you. I’m going to hurt you really, really bad.”
Kevin urinated himself balling his body in fear.
As the smoke claimed the surface of the battlefield, the thickness grew. Nothing could be seen. An echoed howling of pain approached with repetitive thuds to the shaking ground causing tremors. Kevin was whaling in pain.
“No, no please I beg of you; anything but that, someone save me please he’s a monster!”
After ten minutes of screaming, the smoke started to flee back into the puppet’s jaw. The poisonous mist returned from where it came. The thudding began to stop leaving a puppet in mid-air holding Kevin by the bruised neck from blood leaking from his tattered clothes. He was flinching in agony producing broken hiccups in the air. The crowd was terrified watching the person they idolize get defeated so easily by someone they would never dream of. They all witnessed Kevin with a gory beaten face crying from his bruised eye as his clothes were gripped by Phantom holding him staring at the audience. Atreyu stood quietly giggling striking fear to the entire elites in the school.
“Hey ref are you going to announce the winner or what?” Atreyu blurted.
“Um, yes I will; Neo Ruth is unable to battle the winner is School Slayer Masquerade!”
Nobody cheered. There was far too much sadness and terrifying tension in the audience. Atreyu waved his arm down using Phantom to throw Kevin to the ground like a pile of trash. He was barely able to speak, only murmuring mumbles traumatized from the experience. Atreyu pointed at the scoreboards revealing the amount of losses and wins from each individual fighter. Kevin had twenty wins and three losses while Atreyu stood with two-hundred and seventy-three wins and ten losses increasing by one win. He walked away like nothing ever happened. His phone rang in his pocket. Atreyu answered.
“Hey sweetheart did anything happen at school today?” Millie said cheerfully.
“Other than the fight it’s been an ordinary day, how have you been?”
“I’m doing great but today I am very tired from working all day.”
“Well I should be home soon since I’m wrapping things up here now.”
“Alright I’ll see you later Atreyu; I love you.”
“I love you too mom, goodbye.” He whispered faintly.
Atreyu hung up the phone call placing the gauntlet and glove back into his case. He turned back at the crowd grabbing the fence looking intently. Atreyu yelled at everyone.
“THIS IS WHAT YOU ALL WANTED RIGHT? TO PICK ON SOMEONE BECAUSE THEY LOOK FEEBLE AND WEAK? SINCE YOUR SAVIOR HERE LOST, I NOW HAVE CONTROL OVER ALL SCHOOL GROUPS AND THE HIGHEST ELITE STATUS. ANYBODY WHO HAS A PROBLEM WITH IT CAN SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE…
Nobody spoke. Kevin’s baseball team with guys more manly and muscular than any sports players gulped down their throats in fear that they would experience the same thing.
“NO ONE? FINE, I’M GOING HOME YOU ASS WIPES.”
Atreyu flipped them off in the blinding sun of his silhouette. Phantom follows him packing his things away leaving nothing but an injured boy and a crashing wake of terror jibing through the air.
Atreyu walked away speaking to himself in upset.
“Typical of humanity, they can never just talk their problems like civilized beings, but no worries when I complete my mission tomorrow and begin my ultimate goal, everything will change.”
