I laid down in my bed, enjoying the comfort of home it brought before picking up the journal on the side table next to my bed. It's cover was almost just as worn as the picture book I showed Mochi, but since it was made with leather the age didn’t show as much. This was a book that I won’t ever show to anyone, not until I could piece together what it meant. When I was a young dragon, there must have been an accident or something. I can’t remember anything but waking up here in my lair one day with nothing but this journal. I read a bit of it, feeling the heavily worn pages with fragments of my past written on them before drifting off to sleep.

I woke up to the smell of something delicious cooking, Mochi must be up. I walked down the stairs and found her in my kitchen cooking what was probably the last of the salted pork I had saved. It smelt better than anything I would have made. I walked past her to start boiling some water for a cup of my special spirit tea for Mochi.

“Good morning. Stay up late reading? I see you have the Historia Universum pulled out. Did you have any question about it?” I was happy she seemed to make herself at home and was reading the books I have.

“Actually I do have some questions. What exactly is this world, Noctem, like? I get the basics of it, but geographically it seems incredibly diverse. Is everything just separated on different islands, or is it more of an even distribution of climates?” Mochi went start into the questions as she kept cooking. Man I wish I had that skill.

“Everything is mostly spread out, but it works more like if you go north, things become colder. As for south, you'll find more of the volcanoes and desert there. Right here in the rainforest, it's more of a central location. The largest island would be Sanguis Draconis, it's forbidden to go there, I tend to avoid going even near that island. Most of the islands don’t have names except for notable ones. Would you like to go to a shop before heading out? I would like to grab something for your father and sister as an apology for us being gone so long.”

“Sure, but lets make it quick. Here, eat this.” With that she shoved a plate of delicious smelling food into my hands. I didn’t argue, it looked so good. After awhile, I gathered some of the Occultatum I collected earlier to give to Mochi’s father. As for her sister, we can probably figure something out in the market. Along with the Occultatum, I included some other helpful herbs that were pretty uncommon. I lead the way to the small market, with it's two stores, the Book Shoppe and the Alchemy and Oddities shoppe.
