Kim Yeong's Story
It had been around 6 months since he, Matsumoto Yoshiki, had been coming here. He would often bring me sweets, and lots of other great treats. Over this time I learned more about him, and soon we became pretty good friends. So close that we had started talking about expanding the bookstore to have a mini café that sold pastries as well. Today was a special day for both of us. We started as strangers, and now we are co- owners. I was happy to now work with him, and the shop became less lonely.
"Hey! Yeong! Can you give me hand here? These bags are heavier than I remember!" Yoshiki laughed a hearty laugh and I ran over to help him move some supplies to the shop.
"Man I can't believe today is the day of opening this café! My store, has definitely grown more than I ever could have imagined! Thank you for wanting to do this with me!" Yoshiki smiled and shook his head.
"No, the pleasure is mine! Anyways I think everything is ready! Let's open the doors!"
After 1 month of café opening
"Here sir is your croissant and Americano." I heard Yoshiki's voice from the café, I was working the front desk at the moment. I couldn't believe just how many customers there were! Before there would always be a decent amount, but the amount almost doubled overnight. Yoshiki's baking is something to truly admire. I couldn't complain, but it was hard work tending everything by myself, since Yoshiki stayed in the café part. Maybe it was time to hire a part timer...
After talking it over with Yoshiki, I put up some advertising for the position. It didn't take long before we finally started getting some calls. There was only one issue, most of the people trying to get hired just couldn't do the work. We went through a series of bad workers, and soon Yoshiki and I were about done with trying to find someone to help.
"Yoshiki.... I think I should take down the flyers tonight. I guess I'll just have to work harder!"
"Let's keep them up for one more week Yeong. Maybe we will get our lucky break. Besides, you look like you're about to fall over with exhaustion!" Yoshiki had a point. It had been awhile since I had gotten a chance to rest. If I wasn't doing one thing, I was doing ten other things!
"Alright fine, it can stay up another week. But seriously, I will take it down if someone that will work doesn't come along." Yoshiki smiled at my reply. He patted my head before telling me he was going to close so I should head on home. I smiled back and thanked him before gathering my stuff. I was about to head out when all of a sudden the door burst open, and a thin girl came through. She leaned forward to catch her breath before standing straight up.
"Excuse me, are you still hiring?"
