She ran, hoping to find something. The wind blew through her hair, chilling her skin. She stopped, looking out over the dark sea. She sat, her head hung low. She felt the acid spill from her eyes, dropping and burning the clouds beneath her. She opened her mouth, air escaping it. She looked up, her head heavy. The sea drew closer as she grew colder. She stopped breathing, and fell. Her eyes went blank, her mind slowly stopping the train. She gave out.
Hawk Frost looked out from her hallow. Her mind was blank, all she could think was about leaving. Running free. Free from this dreadful place. "Hawk Frost?" a voice said, breaking her thoughts. "Yes?" she said, looking up at Wind Tide. "We're leaving Hawk Frost. Wanna come?" she asked, seeing a smile appear on the smaller females face. "Finally? We're really leaving?" Hawk Frost said, jumping up. It had been a few days sense the decision, so she was quite ecstatic. "No. We're scouting a clear path, that way we loose nobody." Wind Tide said, watching the smile fade slightly. "Oh..At least I can get out. Sure." Hawk Frost agreed, and quickly ran to the entrance, not waiting for anyone to follow.
The group had been scouting a few places, and finally had found a good path. It was a little bumpy, and had deeper snow, but it was the easiest to get across without getting in trouble. Hawk Frost and River Stone went, seeing if it could hold both a heavy and light weight wolf. The test was good, and everything was cleared.
After a while, they went back to the cave. Hawk Frost walked over to the food pile that was made for everyone. She looked and saw few things, all of which had barely any meat. She didn't care. She needed some type of food. After her meal, she felt better. Still hungry, but no longer starved. She yawned, walking away to her hallow. She sat by it, looking into it, and back at the exit. She saw everyone had drifted to sleep, and felt tempted. Her paws tingled, and she wanted to run. She wanted to leave. She resisted, laying down.
It had been days of scouting, she was starting to grow impatient. She asked multiple times why the hadn't left yet, but never got answers. Now, she was currently heading back to the cave. She stopped in front of it, and walked to the side. She climbed on top of it, resting on the top of the cave. She looked out, her thoughts were cloudy. She hung her head low, her eyes stung with growing tears. She shook her head, ignoring her growing sadness. She looked out over the white landscape. She smiled, knowing that soon, she would be free of this crowded cave.
It had been a few hours. Hawk Frost was still there, looking out over the land. She looked up at the sky, a lovely blue blanket with white dots covered it. She smiled at it. Hawk Frost looked down and had a thought. Why do I have to wait...? I can just leave... she thought, and smiled at it. She jumped down, and smirked.
She walked to the salutary area, and walked to Skipping Stone. Hawk Frost shook her awake, earning a small moan from the female. Skipping Stone looked up at her friend, and smiled. "What is it Hawk Frost?" she yawned, keeping her voice quiet. "Come with me." Hawk Frost said, her voice confident, but her eyes pleading. Skipping Stone stood, and looked down at her, tilting her head. "What? To where?" she asked, her tail curling.
Hawk Frost walked to the entrance with Skipping Stone, and walked to the side of the cave. She climbed up, Skipping Stone watching her. "C'mon!" Hawk Frost barked, a smile on her muzzle. Skipping Stone gulped, and followed up. Hawk Frost sat at the edge, and looked out. Her ear twitched as Skipping Stone clawed her way onto the ledge.
Skipping Stone let out a sigh, and smiled. She looked at Hawk Frost, and sat by here. "Was this where you wanted to take me?" she asked, looking at her friend. Hawk Frost shook her head, and smiled. "There." Hawk Frost said in a sigh, looking out. Skipping Stone looked out, and gasped slightly. "You mean...you want me to leave with you? Now?" Skipping Stone asked, her voice coated with disbelief.
Hawk Frost looked at her, and smiled. "Yes, I do. Now. We leave, and can let them catch up. I know where i'm going anyway. Please..." she said, her voice sounding as though she couldn't breathe. Skipping Stone looked out, her ears folding back. "I...I don't know..." she sighed, looking down. Hawk Frost felt her heart sting. "Oh....well...I...I'll see you when they leave..." Hawk Frost mumbled, jumping down.
She watched her friend come down, and gave her goodbye. "I hope to see you soon Skipping Stone..." Hawk Frost whispered, a small smile appearing as tears formed. She saw Skipping Stone do the same. Hawk Frost froze for a second, gazing at her friend. Skipping Stone went to leave, before Hawk Frost licked her cheek. She watched as Skipping Stone looked at her. She smiled, and touched her nose with hers. "C'ya soon..." Hawk Frost whispered, before turning away. Skipping Stone was left watching her friend leave, before turning to the cave.
Hawk Frost ran for a while. She knew where to go. She went to the path she was meant to take with the others, and stood looking at the rocks. She heard running behind her, and quickly looked. Skipping Stone jumped on her, quickly nuzzling into the smaller females chest fur. Hawk Frost blushed slightly, and looked down at her friend as she hit the snow. "S-Skipping Stone?!" she yelped, looking at the grayish blue female.
"You really think i'll let you do this alone?" Skipping Stone smiled, quickly giving Hawk Frost's nose a lick. Hawk Frost smiled, and did the same to her, and stood up. "I can't believe you like me...like that...I thought..." she started, stopping herself. Skipping Stone smiled and looked out. "So, where to now?" she asked, looking back at Hawk Frost. The smaller female smiled, and looked at the rocks. "There."
