Lance snuggled into his cold bed, hoping for warmth. He didn't get it, and cried at the cold, emptiness that he felt inside. He held his pillow to his chest and curled around it. He lost everything. First he lost his family when he was shot into space, and now, he's lost his other family, his space family. He loved the feisty mullet head, Keith, but he overheard Keith and Shiro talking and happened to catch a few words: "...worthless. That's what he thinks. Shiro, its bad enough that he flirts with literally every female we come across. We don't need him underestimating himself." Keith said.
"Lance does that because he sees himsepf as weak." Shiro defended.
"But he's not! It's stupid that he doesn't see that!" Keith yelled. Lance was touched.
"Well, would you rather tell him that you see him as weak? Like the Galra would?" Shiro asked. Keith fell silent.
"No, I just- I don't know what to do, Shiro." He said softly.
"I know, Keith. I know." Shiro reassured him. Now Lance was trapped in a Galra ship, half starved and longing to be back with the others. He silently sobbed. "You know, I wonder why they haven't come for you, little paladin." The person in the next cell over said softly. "I know my people have forgotten me already. It's been years, so what do you expect?" Lance heard the guy shrug. "They haven't forgotten me." Lance said firmly.
"What makes you so sure?" The guy said.
"What makes you think that they forgot about me?" Lance countered.
"Because I was like you, once." He said, shifting so that Lance could see him a bit. "I thought my people would come for me, but they never did. I thought that they were forming a plan, but when the first soldier came in, grinning..." the male shivered, his silver and black wolf ears laying flat on his head. "They broke me that day. In more ways than one." He said, looking up at Lance. They force feed you this stuff that makes you want things... Terrible things..." The male shivered again, pulling his knees up to his chest and wrapping a tail similar to his ears around them. Lance realized that he was wearing a weird outfit. "What do they make you do? And... What are you wearing?" Lance asked.
"They... make you want... them... make you want to have... sex with them. They have me wear this to remind me that they can do whatever they want with me." The male said, picking at peices of the body suit. "I want this to end." He whispered. "Hey, paladin, if-"
"When-" Lance corrected.
"Alright, when you get out, take this to my family, let them know that I'm okay, even if it means outright lying to them. Just tell them that I'll see them on the other side." The male said, tossing a necklace to Lance. It was a single peice of metal, woven and carved into the shape of a giant tree with different gems and shapes of creatures embedded into it. "Please. Do this for me." He said. "Tell them that Kenri says he loves them." The male said, tears in his eyes.
"We'll get you out." Lance said. Kenri's eyes filled with tears. "I wish you could, but you can't. Today's my last day in here. They want to use me for breeding, so I'll be put into one of the higher-ups' rooms." He said softly.
"We will get you out." Lance said determinedly. The door opened and a soldier walked in. "You, you get bred today." The guy said. Kenri winced and shuffled away from the bars. "W-who am I g-going to?" He asked, afraid.
"Get out." the soldier said, opening the door.
