Jutte and Eloisa quickly set up birthday decorations throughout Yūki and Maiko's house. Maiko was out distracting Yūki while everyone else set up, and, as always, Silja sat in the corner and slept.
Jutte groaned, "This would be so much easier if someone would help us instead of being so lazy!"
Eloisa sighed, "Yes, it is most annoying that she is as lazy as a rock, however, you must remember, we are doing this for Yūki. She loves this week, it is her birthday and two days afterward, it is her favorite holiday."
Jutte laughed, "I do not understand why her favorite holiday is Founders Day, but she likes it, so I will not judge."
Within an hour, Jutte and Eloisa were finished preparing the decorations. Eloisa quickly rushed over to Silja and kicked her hard in the abdomen.
Silja made a strange noise as the air was pushed out of her body. Silja quickly jerked up, "What in the hell just happened?" Silja wheezed, rubbing her abdomen.
"Well, while you were taking a nap, Jutte and I set up the decorations for Yūki's party, no thanks to you!"
Silja looked around the house, "Oh yeah... Hmm... These cat drawings, very fitting for Yūki, never realized you were an artist, Eloisa."
Jutte coughed, "Actually... I drew them, Amberjill was going to help with them, but she got caught up in some Navy stuff, things that you were supposed to do, Silja."
Silja shrugged her shoulders, "That cannot be helped."
Jutte and Eloisa facepalmed simultaneously, clear disappointment was shown in Eloisa's facial expression.
Suddenly, Maiko and Yūki's voices were heard outside, Eloisa, Jutte, and Silja all hid in various places in the room.
When Maiko opened the door to the house, they all jumped out and yelled, "Surprise!"
Yūki jumped up in fear, but quickly recovered and laughed nervously, slowly shifting to a corner in the room.
Maiko quickly took Yūki's hand and brought her to the rest of the gang, who were all trying to welcome her.
"Sorry everyone, Yūki is a tad bit shy with parties, she does not like being the center of attention," Maiko said.
"It is okay, we understand. We do not mind," Eloisa said reassuringly.
Jutte spoke up in a louder voice, "How about we have Yūki cut the cake and whatnot, then she might feel more at home!"
Yūki perked up when she heard about the cake, "Cake?! Where is it? I want to eat it!"
Eloisa motioned to a small table they had set up previously. The cake was made of three layers, each with a different flavor. The bottom was strawberry, the middle was chocolate, and the top was vanilla. The icing was a light pink with sprinkles resting casually on top. There were twenty-two candles in the cake, to signify Yūki's age.
Yūki smiled brightly upon seeing the enormous cake that was almost as wide as the table.
"Strawberry," Yūki said, almost in a trance-like state, "Thank you, Eloisa, Silja, and Jutte!"
Jutte folded her arms, "I mean, it is not like I really did it for you... I just had some free time today and thought I would help out..."
Yūki looked at Jutte, "Thank you for spending your free time with me!"
Jutte blushed slightly, "Uhm, yeah, no uh... No problem!"
Eloisa handed Yūki a knife, which Yūki then used to carefully cut the cake, her hands as steady as a surgeon.
Soon enough, the cake was ready to be served and everyone had a slice, Yūki had the cake that nobody else finished.
