I scrubbed my head with the heel of my hand "Yeah sure" about to hop on the bus when he called out to me. I glanced back, he was holding his fist out to me grinning. Rolling my eyes at him I fist bumped him.
"See ya little bro".
"See you at home" I called over my shoulder hopping on the bus to the disgruntled look of the driver, yet even he was afraid to say anything with my brother so near by. He hadn't said a single word while Rayul was speaking to me. Really people, my brother is not such a beast he would run about slaughtering everyone who looked at him funny. My usual seat was empty, and as always the fellow students avoided making eye contact with me. When I was seated the bus pulled forward, on to the pointless place of learning, known to many as school. Really I had no reason to go besides my brothers constant urging, I scored 100% and A+s on every paper I handed in, of course most people thought I was cheating. I was advanced to the point I had jumped enough grades to attend high school at the age of ten, and I would have finished high school in a year if not for Rayul. He insisted I go for the full four years, what a drag. Slumping in my seat with a book propped in my lap, I settled down for the short drive from here to that dreaded place of learning.
As anticipated the day was a drag, full of uninteresting classes and unassuming immature students. I was called to the principals office once to quickly retake a test from last week to be sure I was not cheating. To everyone's surprise but my own, I aced that one and was free to enjoy the rest of my lunch hour. I spent it in the library where I could work on my various hypothesis without interruption.
I was over joyed when the dreaded day finally came to an end, having to only wait approximately six minute five seconds for the professor to pick me up for tutoring. I rushed to her waiting car at a jog.
"Good evening Professor" were the first words out of my mouth when I hopped inside, tossing my bag in the backseat.
"Always so formal Aaron, tell me how was-".
"Boring! I really wish Rayul would let me drop out, they have yet to teach me anything I don't already know".
"You know very well he only wants what's best for you. What would you do with yourself if you dropped out at such a young age? You could end up in a life of crime?" she tutted, carefully steering us out of the school lot.
Uhm, did she forget what what he does to earn a living?
"I already have that figured out. I would start my collage education, meanwhile I would continue learning under you. Between the two, it would occupy most of my time, I would have little time to meddle in the criminal world".
"Don't you want to enjoy your time as a kid? You'll be old and grey like me, with oodles of responsibilities in the blink of an eye. I wouldn't waist my youth rushing to be an adult".
"How could working toward my dream be a waist of my youth? There are thousands of people dying in the world, and I could be out there helping them!".
"I know, I know. You have said it before, with your vast medical knowledge you could save the lives of many. This is reality Aaron, the medical field will never respect a child as a doctor, such a field is ruled and governed by mostly middle aged men, so while you're still at the age of dreaming about your first kiss, you should relish this time while you can".
I crossed my arms over my just with a grumble. Stupid adults. They assume since the majority of children my age were unsuitable in the field of medical care, I would be unable to handle it. I was not as stupid as the rest, why would no one listen to me? My own brother believed I was not yet ready.
