"Hey. Hey, hey, hey."

Oh god.

"Good morning!" Ashton greets me in a singsong voice.

"Ugh.... it is not a good morning." I groan.

I still can't believe this.

"Well it won't be one when you talk like that." He grumbles.

"How can you be so positive so early in the morning? Fucking alien." I mumble the last part to myself.

This guy is still following me. He won't. Leave.

"Hey, hey, can I call you Cal? Ooh I like it! What'd you say Cal?"

Fuck no.

"Nuh-uh, no way, I never want to hear you call me that again." I shove him away, a little lighter than I feel like I wanted to.

"Yes! Come on, you can call me Ash or something if you want!" He starts bouncing up and down like a child.

"No!"

"Yes!"

"Please."

Ugh, jeez.

"You always call that Isabelle girl Iz! Why can you call her by a nickname, and I can't call you by one?"

"That's different, Iz is Iz."

I watch him stumble around as he laughs.

"Ugh! Your impossible!" He grins, punching me lightly in the shoulder.

I lightly punch him back in return. "Your one to talk."

"That may be true." He mumbles.

I hear him chuckle before asking, "how was practice yesterday anyway? You said something about not looking forward to it?"

He clasps his hand together as he lets out a surprised gasp. "You actually remembered what I said! Wow, look at this, this was just meant to be wasn't it? And you wanted to push me away before, you regret it now don't you?" He grins, wiggling his eyebrows.

Not really, no.

Though I'd be lying if I said I've been trying to ignore him recently. He's way too happy, and loud, and... weird, but I guess it all kinda grew on me.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

"Whatever. You going to tell me about it or what? Classes are starting soon, so you better hurry up."

"Oh, well It wasn't that bad, just annoying!" He grunts while stretching out his arms.

Well that was anticlimactic. "Anyways I'm heading to class now so, yeah, see ya." I wave awkwardly as I walk away, my weird attempt at saying goodbye.

I assume he started to head to his class, when I feel his hand gripping my wrist.

"Wait!"

"What..." I groan.

"Let's do something today! After school!"

Oh god.

"Uhhhh, I think I'm good."

I try to keep walking but he doesn't let go of my wrist. Awh, come on. I swear, Ashton, I do not want to- aaand there it is.

The fucking pout.

"Don't be so mean. We've come a such a long way!" He says as he pouts dramatically.

"It hasn't even been a month."

"Time does not determine the strength of our bond." He says suddenly very seriously. The fuck dude.

I feel his grip loosen and I take the chance to slip away. "See ya!"

He audibly gasps behind me before I hear him yell, "I'll be at your locker after school then!"

Crap, would he actually?

"Let me come then." Isabelle suggests after my, most likely, exaggerated explanation of the situation. I do my best to take advantage of our lunch period together, cramming as much complaining in it as I can.

I stare at her, wide eyed. "What? Really?"

"What? What's so surprising?"

I stare at her, dumbfounded.

"What?" She practically yells with impatience.

"You never willingly want to meet people! This is absurd! The whole world has shifted! Are you feeling okay?" I tease, my mouth wide open with the hint of a smile.

"Dick." She laughs. "After all your ranting he just kinda... piqued my interest I guess."

I, yet again, stare at her dumbfounded. She shrugs then continues to shove food in her mouth, and down into her personal black hole.

"What happened to you?" I say as seriously as I can, though I can feel myself start to laugh.

God, she actually wants to meet Ashton?

"Think whatever you want. But I'm feeling some frozen yogurt so we're going there. Oh god, if he doesn't like frozen yogurt-" she clicks her tongue making some motions with her hands, "-straight down the garbage chute." She makes a face along with her actions, making me laugh.

"Okay, true."

Gosh, but I can't imagine what it's going to be like with the two of them. They seem like total opposites.

"But are you serious? I could just shake him off, honestly I don't really know if I want to hangout with him." I mumble the last part while scratching the back of my neck.

"Yeah right, fucking liar." She grins while shoving more food in her mouth.

She doesn't know what she's talking about. Okay maybe I don't mind him as much anymore, but that doesn't mean I actually want to hangout with him!

"Wha- n-no!" I stutter, looking down.

I-I don't care!

"Ha-ha! I know when your lying! You want to hangout with him too, just admit it." She teases.

I am not lying! Okay, maybe I wouldn't really mind hanging it with him, but whatever!

"Fuck you too."

She hums mm-hm as she stands up, making me realize most people in the cafeteria have already left.

"Come on cap, don't be late for class."

She snickers.

Shit. I shove my things in my bag quickly catching up with her in the hallway, giving her a shove for leaving me.

"See you, dork." She says with a wave as she heads off the her class. "Meet me in the atrium!"

"Got it!" I wave back as we part ways.

Damn. I feel like my heart is racing. I can't tell if it's nervousness or excitement, but either way I don't like it. The rest of school goes by so quick, it feels like I just blinked and I was leaving my last class.

Okay. Okay. You got this. It's fine. What if he doesn't show up? That would be good, then I won't have to deal with this at all.

Yeah. That'd be good.

Turning the corner now. Aha. I wonder if he's actually there. He won't be, right? I hope he isn't?

"Took you long enough." I almost walked past my locker, only looking as Ashton called out, leaning against the lockers with his dumbass grin.

Oh god, he's actually here.

"H-hey..." I mumble out, trying to avoid looking at him.

Holy fuck he's actually here.

"What's with you? Get your stuff and let's head out! Wait, what are we going to do? I should have planned this earlier shouldn't I have? I don't even have your number! Give me your number, then we can make plans anytime! Oh, oh, and I can just call you anytime just to talk too, or do you prefer texting? I like calls since I can hear the other person, but whatever is fine with me, at least then I can talk to you whenever I want, not just at school!”  He bouncing up and down again, saying way too many things for me to comprehend in this state.

"W-what?"

"Just get your stuff and we'll talk about it in a bit!" His grin widens as he watched me fumble with my lock.

Fuck you too. Oh right.

"U-um, well I've mentioned Isabelle to you before, you've never met her but you wouldn't mind her coming with us too?" I ask nervously.

He looks surprised for a second before he goes back to smiling. "That'd be great! But did you already have something in mind for us to do?"

"Ah yeah, Iz suggested we go get some frozen yogurt. We go to the place that’s a couple blocks away really often, so maybe we could score some for free." I find myself smirking at the last comment.

"That sounds good." He chuckles.

"Okay, okay! Hurry up! Let's go, let's go, let's go!" He exclaims excitedly, as he evolves from bouncing on the spot, to hoping down the hallway.

I shut my locker as I watch Ashton hop around, and I find myself smiling.

This is dumb.

"Ashton, calm your shit!" I laugh as I jog to catch up with the idiot.

Calvin and Noelle's lives were never perfect, far from it, but one year changed everything for the worst. This is the story of how they fix each others worlds.

Told from the perspective of each sibling, Calvin’s story starts from the beginning, Noelle’s story starts after everything’s ruined.

I’ll be (hopefully) posting a chapter every Monday.
