Men and women all around me fighting for the hand of some snobby, murderous daughter of this lands Alpha. I heard she's heartless and a horrible person. I heard she stripped a beta of his power and banish someone from her pack. That was just cruel and ruthless. How can anyone want to be with someone like that? For the life of me and my wolf, I couldn't understand. But then again power drew people in.
I've also heard she's beautiful, some say the most breathtakingly beautiful woman in this country. She must be very shallow to allow these games to go on every year. I mean come on why is she so picky, she is an old bloodline soon to be alpha. She could just pick the son from another old bloodline.
Each year men and women fight for her hand and she doesn't seem to care. They give their lives for her love and still, she doesn't give the slightest bit of mercy. What kind of cruel person is she? Why would anyone want to part take in these games is beyond me?
I'm only here per request of my Alpha, he sent me on a reconnaissance mission. He wished me to observe Serena and her father. My Alpha wants this land for himself, even if it means all-out war. To do this I'll need to win not only this competition but the heart of Serena. So that means I need to take this game seriously. I wish my Alpha had sent someone else to this dumb game, but I was the best of the best. I was his beta. Well, my father was his beta, but I was training to take over that spot. So that made me the third strongest in our pack.
Two things I can easily do. To my left are the twin brothers Jackson and Michael tall broad-shouldered boys. They were both blonde hair and green eyes, which were rare for wolves. The twins each had their pack tattoo on opposite arms. They were fast and rough. I've heard tales of their exploits they'll be a challenge to a point. But I was better and faster than they were. Yes, they had power, but they were also solidly built and a bit young just barely eighteen years old. But just because you have the biggest muscle doesn't mean anything.
To my right a tall slender female by the name of Veronica. If I meet her at an any given bar I would have fallen for her beauty and became her prey. She is known as the Phantom Assassin and for good reason. She was trained by the best were-creatures of them all. The were-cats. They were some of the oldest and most powerful groups in all the world. They live the jungles. They were powerful and graceful and always make the kill. She has no enemies because nobody lives when she's after them. She's here as well and will be the most difficult to take down. But I wouldn't lose to her. If I didn't win my alpha would strip me of my power and kill my family.
“Sapphire are you ready to begin?” My Alpha asks standing next to me with a nod we take action to secure my victory. As soon as the bell rings I quickly took off for the flag while my alpha stays behinds to take care of the rest. The were-creatures around me are dispatched quickly, one even drop dead from a knife to the back, leaving me the opportunity to win the race and find the flag. However, a few including the twins and the assassin are trying to overcome my Alpha. I run as fast as I can without shifting. Entering the forest.
I begin my search leaping from rock to rock. Driving into the nearby lake and climbing trees until finally, I find it, stuck on top of a large pile of boulders on a two-mile cliff. This will be a difficult challenge for me, but I need to overcome it. I need to get that flag. For my Alpha. For my family, so I can see them again.
I run towards the cliff face as fast as I could. I reach the base of it and start my climb. I was almost there. Halfway up with the flag in my sights, I almost grab it. A sharp pain hits my side knocking me not only away from the flag falling to the ground. My vision blurred I stagger to my feet feeling immense pain in my side. I look up and see the twin boys Jackson and Michael staring back at me. They shift. Their large wolves pacing around me enclosing me in a circle. A fear tactic they've used many times before or, so I'm told. I didn't want to shift but I knew I had too. That would take up my time. These boys were just as big as a fully mature Alpha.
They've must’ve killed many rogues in their young lives. I had hoped I wouldn't have to resort to violent measures but if I must. I will. I had to, if not my Alpha would kill my family and I wouldn’t let that happen. Before the fight broke out I felt a presents, a cold feeling ran through me, I dare not to take my eyes off the boys and let the feeling past. Then the boys jump into action.
Michael leaps at me from behind, I sidestep him as he lands beside me. I reach out and grab his neck and hold him in place. He struggles in my hold and I use all my strength to throw him towards his brother. He stumbles and lands on some rocks at the base of the cliff face.
Jackson dodges his brother body and charges at me at full speed. His momentum is good but not good enough. I move backward I can see his grin he thinks I'm running. I sidestep again his momentum turned against him using it to guide him into a tree. He slams into it full force. He tries getting up but slumps back down unable to move. Bleeding from his head.
I would think that twins would know these simple tricks wouldn’t work on me or anyone older than them, I am actually disappointed that they didn't last long against me. They had the strength and the numbers, but I guess outsmarted was the best way to go. Well, at least I didn't have to kill them. It would have been a shame, they were both beautiful but no match for me. What a shame.
