We enter the yard and she sees all the overgrowth in it.
“Wow, it’s gotten really out of control hasn’t it? There are even plants on the stone paths, I wonder how long this house has been abandoned.”
“A long time… let’s just keep it at that. Let’s go inside so I can show you the clutter of furniture and the extremely odd layout.”
“Sure, let’s go inside.”
We carefully tread over the overgrowth, tripping here and there. When we reach the door, Heather notices the carvings on the door.
“Why would the last owner have such a violent depiction on their front door?”
“I asked the same question when I came here yesterday.”
Passing through the door, we enter the beginning of the clutter that is the house. Heather stands in shock as she sees the horror that is the chaos of furniture.
“Are you sure it was like this when you arrived, or did you do this yesterday?”
“It was like this when I got here. Don’t know what the hell happened, and I’d rather keep it that way.”
We continue through the house with me showing where everything is and her giving remarks about how this house is so messed up. Once I finish showing her the first floor and the basement, we head to the stairs to the second floor where I stop and turn towards her.
“Okay, this is the place where I am going to give you a warning.”
“Cameron, what the hell are you talking about? We’re only going to the second floor!”
“Yeah, but when I came here yesterday there was a note on the door to the second floor and it was closed with a chain.”
“This house keeps getting weirder and weirder.”
“Yeah, yeah I’ll just cut to the chase and tell you the warning that was on the note. Basically, it says that if you enter the door, you are letting go of everything you have ever known and that you’ll slowly go into insanity.”
“Whatever, I’m just going to assume that the person was insane. Let’s just go to the second floor.”
We start to head up the stairs. I pity and fear for Heather, she has no idea what she is going to go through. The archway, the portal, the other side…
“What the hell, you were telling the truth about the blue arch. And why is this the only room that isn’t a complete mess?”
“I know, odd, but the weirdest thing is the arch. Come on, I’ll show you!”
“Why are you so enthused about the arch? What’s so special with it?”
“I said I’ll show you! First you need to grab a candle.”
I show her the steps to how to open that rift-portal-thingy and observe her as she does them.
“Oh, and one more thing, make sure to take a few steps back after lighting the second candle!”
“Ooooookkkaaaaayyyy.”
She finishes lighting the second candle and takes a few steps back like I advised.
“So, what did you want to show me?”
“Give it around 30 seconds.”
30 seconds pass and the process begins, except that there was no shockwave that knocks you on your butt.
“CAMERON, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?”
“What I wanted to show you! Don’t get scared!”
Once the process finishes, she sees the end result.
“What. Is. That.”
