A mixture of the aroma of just mowed grass and rain lingering the air in this dark and cold September night. The asphalt of the streets was still wet from the previous rainfall and the only sound you’d hear was the droplets hitting the ground and the wind blowing through the leaves of the trees. Taking some of them along with it to dance till they’d reached the ground beneath them. You’d only notice the occasional flickering of some of the streetlights, but the streets its self were pretty much empty. Apart from a cat walking over the sidewalk and the barking of a little terrier every now and then. This was supposed to be a night filled with partying and loud music as it was the last day of summer holidays and every teenager in the block should be attending school again first thing in the morning. But this time it was suspiciously quiet. You’d could almost say that there was a dark shadow looming over the town and spreading fear to it’s citizens. Making the townsfolk be wary of themselves, looking over their shoulder to make sure they wouldn’t be followed because they felt someone’s gaze in their neck. Locking their doors and checking it at least five times, just to make sure really nothing could come in to haunt them at night. Every house in the surrounding area was this wary and paranoid. The anxiety in the air would stay as thick till the first rays of sunlight would peek over the horizon and chase the shadows away and back to where they belong. Bird chirping would fill the air and even the flowers would come out of their hiding spots to greet the warmth and light that was called the sun. And as if nothing had been lurking in the shadows and watching them in the darkness which was known as the night, the people rose from their slumbers and got ready to face the day. The first day of the new school year, and what would seem to be a never ending school year if you had to believe the youth. Little did they know what was yet to come.

This is just a little project I feel like doing. I can't guarantee it will be finished.
