Lucinda wakes up, only to find that she's lying not on his bed but on a million of corpses, and rotten human flesh, all their eyes covered in blood.
But she was not afraid. It was a... sort of hallucination she was having for weeks. Last week was all strange, the man in the garden, the quixotic death of Mr Carl and her mysterious absence of mind at this time. Before his death, the only thing she remembers is talking to Billy.
"Oh, Lucinda! You're awake." her mom entered her room, "Coffee?"
Lucinda nodded. She really needed a drink.
"A cup coffee a day, keeps the whatever away!" her mother said, probably trying to make a joke, we shall ignore her.
"Thanks mom!"but then something came to Lucinda's mind, "Mom?"
"Yuuup sweetheart?"
"About that lullaby you sang to me every night..."
"Yes? What about that darling?"
"Who was the bee?"
"Huh?"
"The bee, tip tap tip tap comes the little bee."
"..."
"..."
Lucinda's mother was impressed. Though she knew that it was normal for a girl like Lucinda to remember some memories from the past, but remembering the lullaby that she sang for her, at the age of at most 2 years, was quite impressing...
Her mother smiled.
"It was a song I made by myself, firstly I thought the bee as an imaginary bird. But then I figured out that, your grandmother, Hannah Honeydew, resembled the bee, you know, 'honeydew = lots of bees'." explained her mother.
Lucinda then remembered, her grandmother, the sweetest being she'd ever seen in her life. Though she has never meet her actually, but looking at her only photo, which she found in the store room. She was confident that she must have been really nice.
But all she knew about her grandmother was that she was a brave woman, she was a journal. and she was honored. She died around the age of 40, was murdered, I should say, she was murdered, ruthlessly, by a pack of terrorist, while she was trying to blow their curtains away. Her body was found in a photo studio, hanging in the red, with all her organs bleached out.
Now while Lucinda thought about her, she tried to relate both their conditions, her condition and her grandmother's conditions. She saw how miserable they were ..
But she also saw how alike their conditioned were, and for the second hundred time, she knew something was wrong. Everything was wrong.
When she got ready for school, Billy was already there. Waiting for her.
"You're gonna get us laid!" Billy said.
"What?"
"I mean... late... get us late." Billy said, "Ruuuuuuuuuuuuun!"
And Billy ran.
"Waiitttt!"
And Lucy ran. Guess what, she won the race, by almost 15 minutes.
