Alex felt accomplish after he cut the bamboo pole with a freshly craved wooden sword. Luckily, he had practice in doing thing like that. He had accidentally let his politeness get away by saying that phrase.

Zack adjusted his seat, he was sure the day would be interesting. The other competitors were stopped fro attempting the challenge. Everyone was a little stunned by what Alex had accomplished. Meanwhile, Alex was panicking at his chances of joining a group.

The second challenge was much simpler. They had let a bunch of boars loose into the arena. The captain of The Pink Dreams, Gwen, asked Julius, "Aren't those genetically modified boars from the eastern side? "

"Indeed, it is quite durable and will react to any kind of sound. " Julius replied.

Everyone was screaming like lunatics and charging at them. Alex remembered F's advice to not give himself away by shouting. He sneaked up to a nearby boar, drew one of his swords and chopped it's head clean off. Alex jumped back, the blood of the boars were black due to the mutation.

The third challenge was harder, they were to find a partner and have a friendly sparring contest. Alex looked around, there did not seem to be anyone currently without a partner. He muttered and cursed under his breath.

When his number was called out, he stepped forward alone. Alex raised his hand and said, "I do not have a partner yet. "

Julius asked the crowd if anyone were to volunteer themselves. The same noble that Alex attacked before the whole thing stepped up. He wanted revenge for the embarrassment Alex put him through. Everyone stepped back to give space to the two fighters. Jason looked down at his son, surely he could beat a commoner like Alex.

The two of them were given non-lethal weapons in place of their actual ones to avoid injury. They both carried two swords each, Alex took a stance while the noble  grinned winningly and took his own stance. They both attacked each other at the same time, the noble swiped up while Alex swung sideways. Luckily, Alex dodged the strike and hit the noble. Unfortunately, the noble's sword took off his ski cap when he went for his attack.
