During class I didn’t really say much, mostly because the teacher was talking the whole time and the fact that one kid sneezed and then the teacher freaked out saying things like “How dare you interrupt my lesson with your sneezes! Do you want to be sent to the principal’s office?!” And I personally don’t want to get on this teachers bad side.
The other reason I was mostly quiet was because Kayden was sitting at the next seat over. I’m not sure if he knows about the whole thing that happened in the bathroom or not, but it seemed like him and his group are people I shouldn’t mess with.
Why me? What did I do to deserve this? I sighed and put my head down. My leg still hurts so much. I’m going to go to the nurse after class. I lifted my head and saw Jack looking at me. I immediately straighten my back and he looked away. From the corner of my eye I saw Lucas look at me with a slightly concerned look.
I don’t want him to worry about me… I looked at Lucas and gave him my brightest smile. He smiled back at me and then faced the front of the class. I hope my smile was convincing enough. I looked back at the front of the class.
“I know it’s the first day of school, but you guys are going to have homework tonight,” announced the teacher. The class groaned.
“Don’t get upset yet!” The teacher looked at the clock and then continued. “You just have to be able to say one full sentence, and it can’t be a simple sentence!” The bell began to ring and people started to leave.
I started putting my things into my bag when I felt someone tap my shoulder. Startled, I jumped and turned around to see who it was. When I turned I hit my leg against the table, the same leg that Maccon kicked earlier.
“I’m so sorry for scaring you! Are you okay??” I looked up to see that Lucas was reaching his hand out to me. “Are you okay Charlotte?”
