I laugh, I remember that as if it was yesterday, And Arron was right, he never really warmed up to the idea of vampires. I make it to my class and I sit next to my friend, Lucy. She was the first friend since I started school.

“Amber!” Lucy smiles at me.

“Hey Lucy, How was your weekend?” I put my books on my desk.

“Eh, it was alright… How was yours?” Lucy asks with excitement.

I laugh at her enthusiasm, “Takeshi is back and he came to see me”

“Awe! That's adorable! But why aren’t you guys together? You seem so cute together!”

I roll my eyes, “I don’t have feelings like that for him, he is just someone who saved me and I just admire him very much.”

The teacher comes in, “Good morning class, my name is Mrs. Smith. I’ll be your new math teacher from this day forward. I’ll start by calling your names if I say your name you will say ‘Here.’”

I look around the classroom, there seems to be someone missing, but who?

“Bree.” The teacher waits for a response but there was nothing.

Bree? I thought I saw her in the halls. She should be here…unless… I stand up real fast and runs to the door.

“Excuse me, Ms. Jones.” I turn to her.

“Care to explain just where you are going?” She gives me a snarky tone.

“I’m sorry, but I’m the disciplinary committee, and it’s my job to make sure everyone is accounted for, and I know I saw Bree. I’m going to get her.”

“Ahh, so you're the girl Mr. Franklin told me about. Very well, go on.”

I bow just a little bit and I run out of the classroom. I run down the hallways hoping I could find her. I’m pretty sure she’s with that vampire, Ethan. I always seem to find them together all the time. And every time I had to make sure he doesn’t try to bite her.

I run to the next hallway, and there they were. Ethan had her against the lockers. He was just about to bite her neck. I quickly pull out my rod and I extent it right in between them the rod is right at the tip of Ethan’s nose and but not touching him.

“If you don’t want to get shocked by this you will back up from her!” every vampire knows if they were to touch this rod it would shock them and it hurts them pretty bad. But it only shocks vampires, not humans, which is weird.

Ethan puts his hands up and backs up from Bree, “Fine you caught us.”

Bree pouts, “Why do you have to ruin everything, It’s not like he can turn me into a vampire!” She yells at me.

“You!” I point the rod at her, “Get to class now!”

She rolls her eyes, “Fine…” She blows a kiss towards Ethan, then runs the direction to the classroom. I turn to Ethan.

“And now you.” I unextend the rod. “Do you really think it’s wise for you do keep doing that?”

Ethan smirks, “It’s just a little fun.” He starts to get closer and closer to me, “Don’t you like to have fun every now and then?” He grips my shoulders. I cling on my rod, ready to press the button.

“Ethan, let go of me!” His grip just gets tighter.

“Awe, that's no fun though” He bends his head down to my neck.

“I said let me go!” I extend my rod. But right when I did, something forces my rod making it hit Ethan in the head. Ethan falls on the ground.

“Why did you just stand there?” Arron comes up from behind me. He points his gun at Ethan.

I get right in front of Ethan, making the gun point to me instead. “I will not let you hurt him!”

“Ace, Get out of the way!”

“No! Just because you had a bad past with vampires doesn’t mean you can take it out on every vampire you see! Mr. Franklin, dad and I have worked so hard to bring peace it’s not going to be ruined by you!” I yell.

Arron puts his gun down, “You still don’t understand. Humans and vampires don’t mix and they never will!” Arron turns around and starts to walk off.

I turn to Ethan, I pull my hand out to help him up. He puts his hand on mine. The second he did that. His hand was completely covered in blood and so was everything else around me. I scream then fall to the ground. I blinked then everything went back to normal. Ethan looks at me all confused.

“Amberly!” Arron runs up to me, “What did you do, Ethan!?”

“No! It wasn’t Ethan.” I stood up and faced Arron, “There’s something I need to tell you…”

We were walking home. Arron didn’t speak a word when I told him about my dream. I couldn’t tell if he was mad at me for not telling him, or if he was worried about me. I couldn’t really tell.

We make it to the house but right before Arron opens the door a give him a big hug, “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you at the beginning! But please don’t be mad at me…”

“What made you think I was mad at you?” He wraps his arms around me.

“You haven’t spoken a word since I told you about it…”

Arron sighs, “It’s not that I’m mad at you, but I try so hard to protect you, but how do I protect you from your dreams?”

I laugh, “Well, you can’t. But you can be there when I need you most.” I pull away from the hug. “Just promise you’d be there when I do need you, okay?”

“Okay, I promise.”

I smile. I open the front door and there was Shiro and Takeshi in the front room, “Takeshi?”

“You seem surprised.” Takeshi greets me with a smile.

“I just thought you be here later…But it’s good to see you now!”

Arron walks past me, not making any eye contact with Takeshi.

Takeshi stands up, “But I need to speak with you, Arron.”

Arron stands in shock, as was as I, “Um…I really don’t think that’s a good idea…” I say in fear.

“Yea…And why do I even want to talk to you?”

“Because the situation could cost a life if you don’t talk to him.” Shiro stands up from the couch. Arron stands there in shock. When Shiro gets talks serious, you know when something is up.

Arron nods his head, “Fine, we’ll go to my room…” Takeshi and Arron head towards Arron’s room. I turn to Shiro.

“What do you mean by that?” I never felt this scared since that vampire, 12 years ago, tried to take my life.

“I’m sorry, but I can’t tell what I meant about that…Not right now…”

Takeshi and I make it to my room. He shuts the door behind us.

“So you want to explain to me what the hell is going on?” I say impatiently.

Takeshi takes a deep breath, “I fear of Amberly’s dreams.”

“Oh, I’m guessing Shiro told you about them?”

He nods, “If she is seeing them now that means she is endanger.”

I freeze, “What are you talking about? What do you mean she is endanger?” So that’s what Shiro meant when he said ‘it will cost a life…’

“I can’t explain it now, but…I need you to do something you will hate, just so you can protect her from the danger.”

“Yea, and what’s that?”

“I need you to become a vampire…”

My eyes widen, “What?” I pull out my gun and points it at him, “Or why don’t I just take out the danger right now?” I cock the gun back and I put my finger on the trigger.

“I’m not the danger you have to protect her from.”

“Oh then who, you can tell me that much!” I yell at him, I ‘m ready to pull the trigger.

“You have to protect her from the vampire who killed your parents.”

I drop the gun on the ground, why…why him. I can feel my whole body shake. “What does he want from her?”

“What every vampire wants, her blood.”

“But why? Why hers!” My heart was pounding. Just the thought of losing her killed me.

“I can’t explain that right now… But he’s coming for her.” Takeshi walks up to me and puts his hand on my shoulder, “I know…It's a great sacrifice… but if you don’t then Amberly will die…”

I look at him, “If it’s something we can agree, it’s to keep her safe.” I sigh, “I will do it…For Amberly…”

I pace around in the living room, they been in there of a while, I turn to Shiro, which is sitting on the couch. He looks as nervous as I am now.

“I think we should check on them…” I say to Shiro.

“We have to wait, sweetheart.”

“But it isn’t a good idea to keep them alone like this…”

Takeshi walks in the living room, but where is Arron? Shiro looks at Takeshi. Takeshi nods his head.

“What’s going on? Where’s Arron? What did you do to him?” I try to get past Takeshi but he stops me.

“Arron is fine, but I implore you not to go to his room until morning. I mean it.” Takeshi and Shiro walk into Shiro’s office.

They are hiding something from me, and I’m going to find out what. I run to Shiro’s office. Lucky the door was just a little bit cracked, so I able to hear they’re conversation.

“So you really did it, you turned him into one…” Shiro sounded furious.

“It was the only way…”

I heard a big bang, “And you think turning Arron into a vampire is the better option?” Shiro yells.

I felt my heart stop, did he just say what I think he did? Without a second thought, I run to Arron’s room. I see him lying in his bed, asleep. I run up to him. I pull the collar of his shirt down to see a vampire bite on his neck.

“Why…Why would he do this to you?” I rub my hand on the side of his cheek, hoping it would wake him up, but it didn’t. “Please wake up…” I can’t believe Takeshi would do this to you. I’m going to figure out why. I turned around just to get pulled back.

“I’m not dead, ya know…” Arron says in a very soft voice that I almost didn’t hear.

Arron sits up with his hand on the side of his neck where he was bitten.

I can feel tears run down my cheeks, “Why…” my voice was cracking up. I was so mad, and yet hurting so badly. “Takeshi knows your experience with vampires, and now he made you into one? Did he give you a reason at least?”

Arron didn’t say a word. He pulls me onto the side of his bed, then he hugs me tightly, “I don’t want to lose you…” He whispers.

“W-what do you mean by that? You won’t lose me…if anyone was to lose me it would be Takeshi…” I hug him back hoping to give him a comforting sensation that I wasn’t going anywhere. “But Arron you didn’t answer my questions…”

“I…I can’t tell you…” Arron stutters.

“Why not?”

“I just can’t, please you have to trust me on this one…”

I sigh, “…Okay…” What reason would Takeshi have to turn someone, who despises vampires, into one…? It makes no sense! Arron clings on my clothes and shudders.

“Arron, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”

“You need to get out of here before I do something that will hurt you…”

“No! I’m staying with you. Whatever is happening to you now, whatever you’re going through right now, I’m going to help you! Remember when I promised you that?”

Arron pushes me away, I caught a glimpse of his eyes. Blood red eyes, just what the vampire’s eyes, years ago, looked like. She lusted for blood, is that what’s going to happen to Arron? But…It might be the only way to help him now…

I grab his hands, “Arron I want you to bite me!”

Arron’s eyes grew wide, “What? No! I’m not going to! I won’t hurt you!”

“It might be the only way to satisfy your hunger, even for just a little bit. I had seen what happens when a vampire that was once a human before will become if they don’t feed their hunger. I don’t want to lose you from it. So please…let me do this for you!”

Arron shudders again, and his eyes turned back to the blood red. “If I hurt you…then kill me…”

I felt a sharp sensation in my neck. Arron clings on the back of my shirt. From this day forward we will be doing the most forbidden act ever made in the history of vampires.
