“Argentum Metamorphia!”
A sheer of glimmering holographic light enveloped a lithe gray cat leaping in the air. Flurry of little stars showered down from the iridescent light like little specks of snow. It almost seemed like it was the moon itself shining down on the cat.
T –Tiamet??!
Marina gazed in awe, speechless as her mouth dropped open staring at the three-eyed cat.
Tiamet’s jeweled collar blinked uncontrollably with a spectrum of colors as the prism activated its secret power.
The small gray cat slowly doubled in size, growing larger and larger into a massive, majestic, striking, white tiger. A thunderous roar echoed throughout the temple, a fearsome cry that could awaken the dead.
The demigod Aleta scowled angrily at the intruder, throwing Marina off as her body skidded hard across the ground. The heavy impact scraped her hands and legs as fresh blood oozed from her skin. Marina winced as she lifted herself up with her trident.
Tiamet roared louder, circling around the demigod as if she was her prey.
“So you’ve finally showed up, White Tiger,” Aleta hissed vehemently, meeting the feline’s cold olive gaze.
“White Tiger..?!” Marina gasped. Tiamet is the legendary White Tiger?! Goddess Amphidea’s loyal companion. I thought it was a myth!
“How dare you betray Goddess Amphidea and Solidea!” Tiamet roared furiously, revealing her rows of sharp canines and incisors.
In a flash of lightning, the tiger charged toward Aleta jolting up to lash out at the demigod with her powerful, large, razor-sharp claws. Sparks of energy exploded as Aleta blocked the attack with her ebony bow, holding against the heavy clash. It was two divine beings battling each other.
Marina almost stopped breathing, trembling from Tiamet’s power yet she was also in awe. She could not believe that the same gray cat was this very tiger, fighting a demigod. She had never seen the aggressive raw side of the cat.
Is this Tiamet’s true form?
A smirk covered Aleta’s grim face. "I’m merely following orders as the Punisher of Mortals. Humans are the ones who betrayed us!"
Humans? Marina wondered. What does she mean we betrayed them?
With a burst of power, Aleta blasted Tiamet off her bow toward the ground. The tiger slid across with friction, maintaining her balance with her paws. Not a single scratch lay on her shiny, milky, striped fur.
"Humans never betrayed the divine!” Tiamet growled loudly. “You demons of the Underworld just don`t appreciate what they give you!"
"A worship once a year while Amphidea and Solidea gets seven festivals a year?" Aleta snapped bitterly. "The celestial divinity will never understand! We are forgotten chthonic Gods! We’ll teach humans to respect us!"
An orb of dark energy, gradually growing in size gathered in Aleta's hand as she pulled back her long arrow. It was as if the dark galaxy was swallowing the air like a black hole.
“Attacking humans will not gain their favor!” Tiamet growled, glaring at the demigod. “Marina, block her attack!”
Blood rushed back to Marina’s limbs, snapping her out of shock.
I have protect to Tiamet!
Marina raced between the battle, swinging her trident toward the hurtling arrow. Glowing blue inverse triangles vibrated on the icy staff of the trident, activating its power, as the blue shimmer intensified in brightness.
Marina’s birthmark on her wrist, pulsated neon blue with her trident.
Giving it all her might, the Water Priestess shouted, "Unda Mirra!"
A rushing torrent of ocean waves crashed against the dark energy released by the piercing arrow. The massive collision was war between the sea and the darkness.
An explosion erupted throwing both Marina and Aleta to the ground.
The demigod grimaced, her wings lifting her back to her feet.
The hot blaze in Aleta’s eyes burned crimson red, reflecting hell of the Underworld. She jabbed her arrow threateningly at Marina and Tiamet.
“Mark my word, intervene with Goddess Lilith, and suffer the Wrath of the Furies.”
Black smoke swallowed Aleta like a black hole, leaving no trace of her in the air.
Marina rushed toward Tiamet as her heart pounded loudly.
“Tiamet, are you, OK??!”
The tiger purred, nuzzling Marina’s cheek with her wet nose.
“You did well, Marina. Still a bit slow though, but with a little bit more training–”
“Why didn’t you tell me you’re the White Tiger!?” Marina demanded. “I thought everything was a myth! Does that mean the legends are all true?”
Tiamet groaned. “I don’t want to be bombarded with questions right now. Let’s head back to Reese or she’ll start thinking you’re dead.”
