I was so excited about our date, that I found myself at Yoru's house almost twenty minutes earlier than our arranged time! He didn't seem to mind though, since he was already ready, too. He came to meet me outside only some seconds after I rang the doorbell.
"You're early! " he pointed out, but he had a soft smile on his face, so I know it didn't bother him. I would have been even earlier, but I decided to go for a five-minute ride with my motorcycle around the block to calm myself down a little bit. The truth is that I was nervous, because I still didn't know if Yoru would give me a real chance. In the back of my mind, I thought that he may have agreed just because he didn't want to hurt my feelings. Luckily, this doubt started fading away when I took a good look at him. While he was locking the door, I noticed that his hair was styled back and that he didn't wear his usual sweatpants and comfy hoodies. That made me believe that he actually spent time to look nice for me. He was wearing a plaid red and black flannel, which seemed to go perfectly with his tight black jeans. Still a bit casual, but hot! I was going to comment on that, but before I could say anything, Yoru turned around and noticed my bike.
"You're kidding! You got a bike?! " he asked excited, as he passed me to move towards the vehicle. I really loved how his enthusiasm brought a spark to his dark green eyes. He kept turning his head to me, and then to the bike until I finally followed him and replied.
"Why do you think I wore this leather jacket for? " I explained, grinning. I hopped on my bike and tapped the space behind me, to signal that he should sit there.
"Wait, I thought we were just getting dinner? What are you planning? " he narrowed his eyes and cocked a brow to look at me suspiciously, but he didn't seem opposed to the idea, because he was smiling again.
"That's what we're going to do! But let me take you for a ride first. "
"O...kay, I guess? " he said and joined me. He still had that look in his eyes, but then it almost looked playful. He put his arms around my waist and looked at me with anticipation. That only made me happier and even though I was riding a bike, I think that my adrenaline rush was caused by a different reason.
Everything seemed to go just the way I had planned! After our quick refreshing bike-trip, we stopped at a restaurant near a park. We ordered and enjoyed a delicious dinner, even though we were talking most of the time. It was clear that we both wanted to learn more about the other. Also, Yoru didn't seem uncomfortable or self- conscious about being on a date with me- a guy- at all. I would touch his hand whenever I found him cute or laugh and lean closer to him whenever he made a joke and it all felt so natural.
Once I paid for our meals, we were supposed to go to the movies. For better or for worse though, we missed the one that we wanted to watch because we didn't have much time to get there. I suggested that we continue our date in the park. Yoru agreed and we sat on the nearest bench.
"The view is really pretty out here " Yoru broke the silence that threatened to go on for another minute. I was confident and talkative while we were at the restaurant, but then we were all alone, sitting closer than before and I suddenly felt shy. But awkward silence never got anyone a boyfriend, so I decided "to heck with it" and tried flirting.
"If you're talking about me, I already know. You look handsome, too " I said and turned to face him.
"How can you say those things with a straight face? And I wasn't talking about you! " Yoru laughed. You almost couldn't notice, but there was a dust of pink under his eyes. He either didn't know his blush was showing, or he just wasn't embarrassed about it because he was still facing me. Being cute and hot at the same time should be a crime!
"Are you sure though? " I smiled and leaned closer.
"Maybe? " he laughed. He almost leaned closer as well, but he had a skeptical look. I didn't know what to do.
He seemed to have a good time until now, so what is he hesitant about? I thought. I wasn't going to make the first move either, because I was the one that started all this in the first place. I needed to make sure that he wanted it too. A few seconds passed, but we were still looking fixedly into each other's eyes. Then I looked at his lips and reminded myself how much I wanted to kiss him. To be honest, that was something I wished to do from the start of our date. I didn't want Yoru to think that I couldn't take things slow if he needed to, but his twinkling eyes under the starry sky, his warm smile and the tint of blush on his cheeks made my desire stronger. I knew I couldn't be the one taking initiative this time though, so I finally turned my gaze away. Yoru must have noticed the dejected expression I didn't want to show, because he immediately asked me what's wrong.
"I just... I want to kiss you " I said, focusing my gaze at anything but him.
"You can do it "
"Really?! " I quickly turned to face him. I must have looked really surprised, because Yoru started laughing.
"Yes! But I don't want to rush anything. Let's take it slow, okay? " he replied and I nodded. I could have asked him something more about the matter, but I stopped thinking after he covered my mouth with his. I responded immediately, finally getting a taste of the soft lips I've been craving for.
