In July I featured Tanabata, one of the biggest summer events in Japan. Hinagishi and Koutaro sit in the garden to enjoy the evening breeze.

The story is set in a small town in Japan in the mid 90’s. Two male teachers meet in a middle school. Yashiki is an impulsive, unmotivated, and irresponsible young teacher who runs away from any commitment in his life. When Hinagishi - a devoted, responsible head teacher - ends up with Yashiki as his assistant, conflict is inevitable.
This is all about love, responsibility and commitment. I wanted to depict a romantic relationship between two ordinary men along with the daily life of mid 90’s Japan.
