I didn't have the best time sleeping.
Aimi tossed and turned her way to sleep, and tossed and turned still when she did sleep. Which made my attempts at sleeping a challenge.
When I did finally manage to go under myself, Chinami woke up and stumbled to the shared bathroom in our dormitory. Not her fault, it's just what happened.
It didn't help that there was more stuff on my bed than usual and that I was sleeping with my guitar and I was afraid of accidentally kicking it.
I remember saying "sorry" under my breath a couple of times to my guitar that night.
I didn't check under my bed, there's bound to be space under there. I had contemplated just waking up and checking but I didn't want to wake Aimi and Chinami up.
Eventually, I did woke up. Comfortably, even. With my clothes on my chest squeezed tightly as a makeshift hug pillow. Most of my clothes that I laid on my bed carefully are scattered around my feet. Apparently, I was a tosser and turner too.
“Whoa, we have a wardrobe you know...” Aimi's voice waking me up callously looking at the mess I made...
“Sorry, I will clean this up quickly,” I said and tried to get up immediately, partly ashamed.
“Huh?” I remember Aimi saying as she left following Chinami out unhindered by cleaning up after themselves.
I manage to get my breakfast with my wrinkled uniform, unfortunately, I didn't have time to iron them as I spent the time folding my clothes and making my bed.
In hindsight, it would have made more sense to spend the time to iron my clothes rather than making my bed...but then I would have to make my bed minutes before I use it again to study and sleep.
I don't know reader, I'll leave it up to you to judge what I should have done.
I entered the dormitory cafeteria, it was a fairly large room with natural light pouring in from the windows.
As per usual every table was already occupied with an Idol Candidate and their entourage consisting of non-Idol Candidate students. They buzz around the Idol Candidate some looking for spiritual closeness, some looking to get on as the Idol's Accompanists for the year and beyond.
Accompanists are members of the Miraian clergy that support the work of Idols be it as members of the support staff of an Idol or a Mirauditorium. Actually, they have their own sets of tests they need to pass, but many people don't automatically become Accompanists.
See, The Accompanist Test, taken at the end of the year, is actually quite simple and easy to pass.
What's not simple and easy is to gain favor with an Idol Candidate in training that has the power to pick up Accompanists after graduation. I am pretty sure right about now, there are two students that are making Chinami's, maybe even Aimi's, bed trying to curry favor with them.
"Hey dummy-sama! Get over here!"
"Yeah, we saved you a seat ha ha!"
Ah, yes. My accompanists.
