Azurda Lilac: “Oh um is this on??”
“Yes, it’s on just start dad.” Lilly said with a sigh then said. “Ok look my dad will be handling this one as I spent most of the day calming Z and Sam down just bear with us and I hope you enjoy um my dad’s day I guess.”
I sighed and got out of bed before starting to get ready for work as I did I got a phone call from my wife.
“Good morning honey how are you holding up today.” I asked her.
“I’m six months pregnant how do you think I feel?” she replied.
“Last I checked you handled being pregnant pretty well so other than sore paws you’re feeling fine.” I said with a little chuckle.
She sighed and said in defeat. “Yeah I’m fine other than how big I’m getting and my sore paws and speaking of our babies. Or more specifically Lilly are you sure that this was such a good idea you know how she is she likes to earn her own way and do her own work and some of the others around her. I mean she feeds on a challenge and excels under pressure. Having someone following her around trying to do her work for her it will drive the girl nuts and you know her temper I just don’t want her blowing up on her assistant.”
“Doubt full Sam’s not only one of her newest charity cases Lilly’s already beat the crap out of a silverback for her. I doubt Lilly would send Sam away or blow up on her plus she’s got a sweet helpless way about her that completely defuses you it’s especially effective on Lilly. I swear I’ve never seen anything like it one second she’s in a fighting rage the next she’s completely calm.” I said remembering what I had seen on the elevator.
“Are you serious how did she manage that?!?” My wife said sounding shocked.
“No clue she just seems to defuse the anger.” I said simply.
“Well if it does work you won’t be able to medal as much.” My wife teased.
“I don’t medal I just try to help.” I said with a sigh.
“I know but she hasn’t needed any help that she didn’t ask for in a long time.” She said sounding a little sad.
“I know but still I just want to help.” I said with a sigh.
As my other children would come to me whenever they needed help with anything. Lilly on the other paw seamed to only ever come to me to help fix someone else’s problems not that I minded doing it but she never came to me with problems of her own. it’s not like she doesn’t have problems as it was she didn’t want my help or to be help period.
“She’s not our baby anymore I’m sorry to say and nor is she a sick little girl that needs to be looked after.” my wife said.
“I know I know it’s just I worry about her” I said with a sigh
“I know honey, but she can take charge of herself I’ve got to go I’ll call you later.” she said as I heard one of the children calling her as another cried in the back ground.
“Alright I’ll let you get back to it then I’ll see you tomorrow bye.” I said hanging up and after a few moments I started flipping through my photos on my phone stopping on one that was of me and Lilly on her first day out.
It had been taken three months after bringing her home from the hospital for the first time she was so small that we had to put her in her younger sister’s old dress. Who was four at the time and was larger than Lilly, so we had to pin it up for her. But it was her birthday and she was so happy I had taken her into the city we had had a great day that was tell.
(Flash back.)
“Lilly, I know you like the pond but if you keep this up your going to end up in the water with your name sakes.” I chuckled as she tried to reach a Nympheae caerulea also known as a blue water Lilly.
“But I want one there so pretty.” she giggled it was a little to childish for her age but as she had never had a real chance to act like a child, so it was understandable.
She then eeped as a small piece of the ground broke off and she fell in as I jumped forward trying the grab her but I missed. To my great surprise what I had thought was a rock rose up and she landed safely on a large scratched and cracked turtle shell. Lilly watched in shock as the turtle walked onto shore.
“Thank you, mister turtle.” Lilly said jumping down off the turtle’s shell.
Once she was on the ground the turtle turned to her and started to lick her this led to a lot of giggling that quickly turned to a coughing fit this had the turtle stopping his licking. Once she had got her breath back I walked over and patted the turtle shell it was then I noticed some horrible individual had carved r3x in the turtle shell.
“Rough life a old boy.” I said running my paw over one of the worse marks on the shell.
“Dad!” Lilly said still occasionally coughing but to my shock when I turned to look at her and to my shock her paws where covered in blood as she coughed up more.
“Lilly” I said rushing over to help her.
“Dad I I can’t breathe!” she tried to say between coughs.
“Don’t speak ill call a doctor.” I said doing so and as the nearest hospital was luckily on the other side of the park
They sent over a female cheetah doctor who was met by a hissing and protective turtle. Who I had to try and keep calm as she took my daughter and once she had ran off I started to run after her. A short time later a doctor informed me that when she had fell she had suffered massive internal damage and her lungs had started to fill with blood. The worst of the news was that if she hadn’t been so close to the hospital she would have died before rescue could reach her. It was another of her little miracle come backs in fact it was her second of her current four, but the doctor said she should be ok. I sighed as I walked into the lobby to call my wife and the family only to find a hissing and very mad turtle being held by a wolf Z.P.D. officer. I burst out laughing it was a little hysteric at the shock of the hole seen but the laughter seemed to have calmed down the turtle it also caught the attention of the entire lobby. Three weeks later Lilly was back in bed at home and unable to leave it do to her injuries.
“Hay Lilly you have a guest.” I said to get her attention.
“A guest who is it?” She asked as I opened the door letting the turtle waddle in.
“He followed you home.” I said giving her the best gift I could a friend of sorts.
:Meanwhile on the other side of town a rex nuzzled Lilly as she petted him her paw rubbed over the r3x carved into his shell.
