Harry was up and smiling like new again the next day. He was jumping up and down on his bed as Draco got dressed. "It's Halloween! It's Halloween! It's Halloween!" He chanted in time with his jumps. Draco chuckled. "Yes Harry. It's Halloween. We'll all go to London to celebrate tonight, but first you have to make it through the day." Harry stopped jumping. "Awww." He whined.
As expected, Harry found it hard to sit still all day. He raced Draco to each class. He even tried to answer questions in class, which usually only ended in him fumbling over his words. The teachers didn't mind though. They were actually quite impressed that, though his ability to say the answer was lacking, Harry was almost always right.
In Slughorns potions class, which was shared by Gryriffindors and Slitherins, Harry listened to the professor explain living death. "Now, can anybody tell me which vile of dreamless Sleep had been properly brewed?" He asked. On his desk were 3 viles. Orange, Blue, and Purple. Harry raised hand in the enthusiastic way 5 year olds do. "Ah! Yes, Harry?" Harry pointed the desk. "That one! The Purple one!" He said with a grin. Slughorn look surprised before he suddenly burst out laughing. "You can't get it right when you're 18, but somehow you manage it when you're 5. Did Malfoy tell you the answer?" Harry shook his head. "No sir. I did it awll by myself." He said. the class went on as it was.
Harry liked to answer the questions in class, not because he wanted to prove anything, but it made Draco smile. Harry decided he liked it when Draco smiled.
FINALLY, the day was over. Harry grabbed Draco's hand and ran back to the dorms. Draco had trouble keeping up,
"Come on Draco!" Harry said. As soon as they were back at the dorm, Harry was putting on his costume. Everyone was waiting out in the common room for him.
"Are you done yet?" Draco called. "I'm coming!" Little Harry yelled down the stairs.
"What do you think? I'm a dark angel
"What do you think? I'm a dark angel." Harry said gleefully. Draco was honestly speachless. Ron chuckled. "Draco, what exactly did you make him where?" Harry huffed and glared at Ron. "I pick it out myself." He pointed out. Ron stared at a moment and laughed. "Okay, okay. You look cute, I'll give you that." Hermione giggled. "I never would have guessed Harry had such girly prefrences as a kid." Luna looked at Harry a moment more. "He kind if looks like a veela." She said.
The others nodded, as they could see it too. "Why is the outfit so girly though?" Blaize asked. Draco sighed. "He wanted it. It was either this or some weird looking wizard costume." Ron held back a chuckle at the options. "It could be worse." Draco continued. "It originally came with a black frilly shirt with shorts attached under them." As they imagined Harry in the skorts several of them snickered at the thought.
"How did you say he got the bruises again?" Hermione asked. Harry shot Draco a panicked look. Draco just nodded. "He told me that there was a bully who liked to pick on him a lot back home. He doesn't really like to talk about it though." the Malfoy smirked at his smooth lie. Harry seemed to calm down too. For the most part anyways.
"Draco! The sun in going down!" He pointed out. Draco sighed. "All right, all right. Let's get going. Got your bag?" Harry nodded and held up a little black bag Hermione had let him borrow.
They flooed to Hogsmead and apperated to London. Harry complained some more about that, causing his friends to laugh.
The night went on forever. Draco was dead tired halfway through. He may be a morning person, but he was no night owl. Still, seeing Harry so happy was nice. After everything he'd been through, he deserved this.
After everything was done and everywhere had run out of candy Harry yawned loudly.
"Is someone tired?" Neville asked teasingly. Harry shook his head. "no." He said rubbing his eye. Draco chuckled and picked Harry up bridal style. "Oh, I think someone is tired. Come on, time for bed." They apperated back to Hogsmead. Harry glared at Draco for that, but his deadly 5 year old glare was cut off by a yawn. "But, I'm not tired." Harry said sleepily. Hermione chuckled quietly. "Come on, you two floo back to the room." Draco looked up at her. "McGonale said we all had to floo to her office." He reminded the bookworm. Hermione sighed tiredly. "I don't think you have a choice in the matter." she pointed at the sleeping Potter in Draco's arms.
"I'll tell her why you couldn't make it." Draco gave Hermione a grateful look before flooing to the common room.
Harry stirred a little, but that was all the reaction Draco got. He cast a spell that changed them both into their pajamas. Then he laid them both down on his head. Draco had long given up on sleeping alone.
Harry snuggled closer into Draco's chest. "Thank you dwaco." Harry mumbled. Draco gave Harry a hug and whispered to the little boy. "You're welcome" Harry let out a satisfied sigh. "I love you dwaco." He muttered, just before sleep over took him.
Draco never heard that last comment though, because sleep had already taken hold of him.
