I think someone should have just told them that, otherwise this is going to be really suspicious. But then again, it makes sense if he doesn't need it to survive. But still, it doesn't help that all their answers are really met with yelling and telling them to shut up and follow orders. For most regular people, I think that would be the normal conclusion.
