When we got to the school Haru was waiting inside of the only class we all had together this year, 1st period homeroom.
Luke went ahead and went to where he was, black hair spiked up, laughing and chatting with a few of the other players from the basketball team.
I knew that since midterms were over I would be reading my "treasure" all period.
I smiled all giddy.
For once I was glad that there were assigned seats and I was in the back far away from both of them.
I slipped it quickly into my desk before going to greet Haru, I didn't want to risk someone seeing me pull it out of my bag.
I felt like all of the tall players could eat me alive.
Particularly, starter #15. Known for his perfect three point shots, standing 6'3 with a slight muscly build, sweeping hair blonde hair that is a little lighter than Luke's that landed slightly over his eyes......is the most popular guy in school...fawned over by every girl.... Jordan Newberry.
Gulp
He always made me nervous when I would go talk to Haru.
He seemed to constantly be staring at me, but I couldn't ever figure out why.
I sweated as I walked up to the group.
"There is that stare again. What in the hell did I ever do to you?!?"
As I approached Haru I said a nervous friendly hello to all of them.
"Hey!"
"Yo!"
"What's up Coy?!?"
They all gave me a proper greeting.
All except for him.
He just pierced me with his gaze, not even paying attention to the girls who were trying to get his attention.
"What's up man?!?" Haru said putting his arm around me. "So Luke said he almost killed you again this morning."
"Whhaaa?!?" I said.
Luke just looked at me.
"Haru can't we just put him in a box on the corner and hope he goes to a good set of friends?"
"Haha! Geez you guys are always at it!" Said Haru with his easy going attitude.
"Alright take your seats!" Said Mrs. Martin the homeroom teacher as she entered, heels clacking against the floor.
I started towards the back.
"Woah! Where are you going?" Said Haru grabbing my wrist.
"Umm...to my seat?" I said confused.
"Remember?" Said Haru "Because of all of the talking Mrs. Martin changed the seating chart."
The bell rang.
As it did I spun around to race back to my old desk to grab my manga before anyone saw it.
When I looked back there, I was too late getting to it before it's new occupant took my place in the seat.
Before I could race back there to grab the book I met the eyes that marked my grave.
There, swishing his blonde hair,
his eyes pierced me as he looked up from my manga with a smirk on his face.
F***!!!!!!!!!
