No the poeple who hurt and attacked Buck weren't discovered or persecuted. And Buck, in the midst of his trauma, said nothing. The reasons for this will be made clearer later on int he story, but mostly its because of this:
REAL LIFE.
In reality, I'm infinitely sad to say it, but the fact is that bad guys don't often get caught, or made to pay for what they have done. Buck would have known that Ale's father would either have known about Stephano's plan and turned a blind eye, or preferred to have remained ignorant of details but still understand that Buck was going to be victimized and done nothing. Ale was never going to stand up to his father; he couldn't even stand up to his peers. Buck knew this, and too afraid and traumatized from his ordeal, chose to be quiet, not to make waves. No matter what's right in retrospect, bravery is very VERY hard.
And I know that one of the worst things to force on a victim is the guilt of silence.
I could have made this a fluffier ending. Something comedic and lighthearted that would make everyone grin with satisfaction, but I think it's pretty clear by now that I'm going for drama, angst and realism rather than fluff. It will all be worth it in the end, seeing these two fall in love. Well I think so. I hope you do to <3
The situation Buck is going through and survived is horrible, but he's a fighter. You've REALISTICALLY captured an all to real and unfortunately relatable tragedy that numerous people have experienced. Fluff is cute, but the slap in the face is REAL LIFE! Great job capturing an eye opening truth about pain, life, and recovery!
