This one calls for a little explanation: in Brazil, the best universities are public, not private. But as they are few compared to the amount of people finishing highschool every year, we have to score a test called Vestibular (i switched for SAPS, but it isn't the same thing), sometimes against thousands of competitors. It is a very stressing period of students' lives, but, as you may know, Brazil is not a very economically developed country yet.
So, even if making it into a good public superior school, it's still a small challenge next to those that come after you enter graduation.
