“I-I’m going to defeat you!” Before me, stood a young-man with gentle yet passionate eyes. His hair swayed softly in the breeze. He was taller than me, but he looked weak. Everything about him from head to toe contradicted his words and his actions. Let’s take a closer look into his eyes.
“Why?” I tilt my head to the left.
“If I capture you and bring you to my lord. My family will be proud of me.”
“Why?” I tilt my head to the right.
“W-why? What do you mean why? You are evil; therefore, it is only right that I defeat you.” He’s stretching his sword out ridiculously forward. He won’t have any strength to strike me like this. An amateur?
“But, I am not evil you know?”
“Nonsense! I’ve seen you kill. You’re heartless! Before every kill you stare them in the eyes watching as their life fades. And all those wounds you’ve taken they’re gone the next day like it had never happened. The only explanation I can think of for something that crazy is that you must be a bloody witch!”
“Oh? You even noticed the absence of my wounds? Clever boy.” Although, he thinks I’m some sort of psycho who enjoys watching people die. I don’t like that.
“I am not a boy!” All this shouting at me, is annoying.
“Shut up! Don’t move.” My orders made him flinch.
“Y-You! How dare you order me!” He advanced. I drew my blade and threw. “HA! You missed!” There it was, the slowest swing from above. The trajectory path was pathetically obvious. With Vitae’s sheathe I swipe his blade aside. He had put so much strength into it, the blade stuck into the ground. I watched, antagonizing him as he struggled to pull the sword out. After giving up he threw punches. Never have I seen such idiocy. His punches collided with nothing but the trees and the branches. “Witch! What trickery is this?”
“HUH? Is this guy stupid?” Oh, I just spoke my mind, oops. “Are you an idiot by chance? Look behind you.”
“You think I’d fall for that? The oldest stick in the trees!?” Okay, I’ve had enough. My patience can only last so long. I advanced on him and with his momentum I threw him over me and to the ground. With one foot, I firmly placed my weight on his torso.
“Look. There’s nothing else you can do anyway so just look.” Oh, he’s complying. “Good boy.” What he is looking at, is a Dire-Wolf on the ground with Vitae protruding out of its skull. “Do you understand now?”
“You missed me on purpose?”
“Yes.” As I stood above him, I leaned forward and entered his gaze.
“But I would’ve parried anyway.” His eyes met mine, I saw confusion and relief within his eyes.
“No, you wouldn’t.” I smiled, satisfied.
“A Dire-Wolf was sneaking up on me?”
“Yup, and you had no clue.” He seems to have calmed down.
“You saved my life?”
“Are you stupid or what? It’s obvious that I did.” I ruffled his hair.
