The boy stood there grinning at Elijah it wasn't a grin of evil but one full of joy.
"Did you like my power?" He said laughing.
"Power? it's not a power it is something I would rather not have it's more like a curse" The boys grin faded into a scowl he stormed up to Elijah and pulled him down by his collar.
"Curse!?! CURSE! I SAVED YOU FROM DEATH!"
"Remind me, when did I ask for your help?" He felt the grip loosen and slung his head back.
"So you don't want my help then huh?"
"That would be the correct assessment" Elijah replied sounding like a robot.
"FINE THEN SEE HOW WELL YOU DO WITHOUT ME!" He slowly faded away like the change from day to night. Elijah stood there recounting the conversation and asking himself if that was the right thing to do.
"Excuse me" an old lady said.
"Are you okay you have been talking to yourself for a little while now" Elijah shot her an ice cold glare.
"I'm fine" The woman stood the shocked for a second then walked off mumbling to herself. Elijah needed to cool off. When he became this angry he didn't go home usually he walks to his spot on the top of a very tall hill where he watched the city. He liked being alone and he knew that he wouldn't be alone anymore he had the boy chained to him and Emily pestering him at school he had no freedom and no escape.
When he finally reached the hill it was dark and the stars began to come out he liked to see all the lights on in the city. They lit up the surrounding area and formed a sea of bright lights. He could see the cars and hear the horns of angry drivers. Suddenly his vision changed the bright lights were dim and his vision had a red outline of every building and a blue outline of every person. He closed his eyes and opened them again only to be dismayed by the fact that it was still there. Voices started flooding into his ears and he could hear everything from the children crying the people being mugged but one voice stood out. Emily was talking to people in an abandoned building.
"Are you sure he is the one" A man asked
"Positive have I ever been wrong before" she responded.
"Elijah, Huh? Well we will have to have evidence before we start to make our move" he replied.
Elijah's vision and hearing went back to normal and the boy was in front of him again.
"See they only want to use you. She doesn't like you for who you are the only want something inside of you"
"I thought that I told you I didn't want your power!" He shoved the boy, who immediately fell over crying.
"I-I-If you leave me then I won't have anyone again. They all left me alone they all abandoned me. THEY LEFT ME TO DIE! Then I found you. You looked so lonely and I thought that maybe we could have been friends. I followed you everyday for weeks then... then... then you killed me too but unlike the rest you didn't seem angry you looked unshaken I wanted to know you more but you kept rejecting me" He sat there sobbing while trying his best to wipe away the tears that had been flowing from his eyes.
"Maybe I didn't want you to follow me, Maybe I didn't want to be friends with you. I was fine on my own now LEAVE!" Elijah screamed but the boy didn't leave he sat there crying and whining. Elijah just looked at him and walked away.
On his way back home he bumped into Emily who was walking into a convenience store.
"Hey Elijah, what a coincidence" She said while she smiled. Elijah was so angry just looking at her. He wanted her to go away and disappear but she was still there.
"SHUTUP AND LEAVE ME THE F*** ALONE!" He shouted while storming right past her. He didn't care what they others thought he was better off alone. It is easier it is how it had always been till this year. He hated them, he hated everyone who wanted to talk to him and he hated Emily most of all. He wanted them all to disappear he didn't want them to talk to him or even look at him. Whilst make his flashy exit a hand grabbed his shoulder and tugged him to the side turning him at a 180 degree angle. It was Alex. The same Alex he didn't want to see.
"What was that. DON'T THINK YOU CAN TALK TO HER THAT WAY YOU LITTLE PRICK!" Alex smashed his fist into Elijah's stomach hard enough to wind him Elijah fell to his knees and looked at Alex with a killers intent. Without hesitating Elijah grabbed his leg and threw him. Alex was ripped off the ground and smashed into the convenience stores window. Elijah looked at his hand. This wasn't his normal strength it was that of a monster. He stood there people kept gossiping but all he heard from the was what they called him.
"That boy is a freak! A MONSTER!" He shot them all a cold hard glare and ran off making his way home. He reached his destination finally and slung himself onto his bed. He lay there and started to scream into his pillow. That was all he could do. He couldn't control his strength and he didn't want to kill anyone. So he screamed he screamed till he couldn't scream anymore. Then, He started to cry. He didn't want to be called a monster he didn't want people knowing what he had become and most of all he didn't want to know what he had become.
He changed into his pyjamas and looked through his window waiting for the dreams to come, waiting to escape his reality.
