“Tiger! I haven’t seen you in years and yeah, I would like to think I changed a lot since then too” Ezra said excitedly as he and I rejoiced in childhood memories for the next hour.
As the bar hours started to shorten before we knew it since I had gone to the bar around eight, it was the end of Ezra’s shift at twelve we both started heading home. By now all the street lights turned off and the roads are empty except for tourists or visitors heading home. As me and Ezra wave and say our goodbyes, I head out the exit and walk to my motorcycle parked in the parking lot. The night was silent and you could hear church bells in the distance. I lived near the bar by a proximity of five miles. The night was lined by stars and it wasn’t long before I was in the comfort of my own driveway. I lived in a two story house with a garage that I rarely used.
I work as a lawyer, since my mom was a lawyer before she passed away, I helped her a lot and was basically an apprentice. The majority of my childhood I was sick was ill and one day my mom decided to take me to work with her. I loved it so much, I was there almost all the time. I graduated early at the age of fourteen, before my mom passed she was really strict and I took extra classes on a daily basis. I was constantly working and got a job locally as soon as humanly possible, I haven’t been working here long but it pays well.
I get ready to open the door and look down to see it’s slightly opened,I swing the door open to see my place was ransacked. I don’t own anything of importance so this might have been an ordinary robbery and I believed this until I saw my photo albums pulled out. I pick up the photo album to see the theme of pictures stolen is one thing, Rin. This person specifically pulled out any photo that had Rins face in it and as I seen that I had no more images of her it was like they were trying to erase her from this place even though I am a living witness that she existed. I ran upstairs to see if they had stolen from her room that I haven’t touched since she passed away. I get to her door to see that it was untouched and I looked in my room to see it was empty, what were these people wanting? was there a point to this? or were they were just stealing what they could get there hands on?
The next day I report a robbery and go to work like any other day. I pull an all nighter as I sat at my desk all I could think about was the robbery it didn’t seem like an ordinary robbery they wanted something specifically. This clouded my thoughts as I worked on the Andersons case, as I sat in a dark cold office I started to think of the fact what if I was not at the bar last night and I was home. Could I have possibly been able to stop the robbery or would I have been seen and injured as they had to make sure that they weren’t seen? I yawned and decided to look at the time, it was 5am, I have two hours till I am supposed to be here again, I decided to go to office showers and wash off so I don't have the stench of a all nighter. I opened the curtain to be in a towel, I go to the sink to splash mild temperature water on my face to wake me up. I hear the doors open and soon see the face of Eli, or his full name Justin Elias Parker. His hair is black and he has it styled in a spikey sloppy manner, he only ever has one eye showing...ever and it’s a light blue eye and he has light skin with dark freckles. He graduated early and was top of his class in all of his courses, he is also my rival in the office and is seen as the reason I am so motivated, which in reality he just agitates me. Eli stops as soon as he sees me and looks as if he is observing me, and soon speaks as I was about to ask why he hasn't spoken a word yet.
