Days and nights past, Salsa taking Raziel off, they both would go out on their own to be alone. All this while Haniel was working in the depths of the underdark. Soon enough however, they discovered something. Breaking into a tough stone wall they’d come across; they found a hidden passageway.
Haniel was the first to enter it, coming up into an underground cave. He climbed out of the water and was joined by the other two angels. Salsa took a moment to wiggle his new toes in the air. “Look! Look Rai! I have feet like you! Look at how pretty my toes are!” He said this excitedly as he grabbed both his feet and squeezed them gently while giggling. Haniel was certain Salsa had turned legged before, the devious nature he only showed to Haniel proved he only acted this way as a game.
A sick manipulation. All because Haniel knew deep down that Dagiel truly loved him and not this flip flopping freak.
Raziel chuckled and reached out to poke Salsa in the head. “You’re too cute Salsa.”
Salsa stuck his tongue out at the other angel, “You’re way cuter RaiRai!” it was a set of affectionate nicknames between the two of them apparently, another twisted lie.
“Come on you guys, let's explore this cave.” Raziel suggested as they swam past a large, ominous cavern.
“Yea! Yea! Let’s go on an adventuuuuure!!” Salsa called out as he dramatically pointed out toward the darkened cavern. They took the time to help Salsa get used to his new legs, as he wobbled and nearly fell over. After a while he was bouncing around on his heels and hugging onto Raziel with a broad and happy grin.
“Whoa…” was all Haniel could say, as they moved deeper inside the sight before him was overwhelming. The room was made of stone, rock formations created chairs that stuck up like thrones. Spires stuck out of the ground, spiraling around intricate patterns and designs.
He walked into the cavern, Salsa looking on in shock as something reached out to grab him, a large hand the size of a mountain compared to the angels. It missed however, grabbing only the air as Salsa sprinted over on his legs to Raziel and hugged him in celebration of finding yet another room in the maze of long hallways.
They wandered the cave for hours, “I think this would be a great place for a group of penguins!” Salsa had been the one to make the penguins, the little angel loved penguins and spiders as well as butterflies and he shouted his affection for them at anyone who would listen. Humming happily Salsa grabbed Raziel by the arm and pulled him against his side.
Exploring the cave after Raz and Hani went to work on digging deeper. “Its been hard down here” Haniel commented one day
Salsa noticed the shadow of a large hand, hovering over him as they swam. He shouted as he raced back over to shake them both violently. “Guys, run! RUN!” he shouted louder as they had gone deeper into the cave, it held twisting and winding tunnels and passages. The hand was reaching out, long and snakelike from the darkness behind them. Haniel grabbed a frozen Raziel’s hand and the three took off down the hall.
Their footfalls echoed in the darkness as something huge followed slowly behind. Salsa pushed them into the water as they neared the exit. Raziel popped his head back up when Salsa didn’t join them after a few seconds.
“Salsa!” he cried, watching as Salsa vanished in a white and black light that engulfed him just as the hand moved to grip him by the torso. He smiled as he appeared out of the light, the hand squeezing him ruthlessly, his long white and black hair floated in the water around him like a halo. “Thanks for being my friends you guys, thanks for putting up with me for these long ten years, go! Get out of here! And Raziel, I was wrong, I should never have slept with you, I am sorry, I used you Rai! I used you as a replacement for Dagiel, you will always be my friend Raziel, nothing more!” tears mixing with the water his whisper echoed with the bubbles.
“Goodbye my only love…” He then closed his eyes, accepting his fate as God’s will. Silence echoed around the cavern as the hand crushed him, his body exploding with the underwater pressure. A slow burning rage filled Haniel pushed at a wide eyed, shaking Raziel whose voice came out shattered and broken.
“I…don’t care... I love you Salsa…” Raziel reached out, vanishing in a pink and blue colored light, reappearing from this state still in shock, heartbroken as his crush’s body parts floated in the bloody water of the underdark. Raziel let out a choked gasp as his long dark multicolored hair fell over his shoulders and floated in the water. The land angel was shaking horribly, some of his long tresses sticking to his mouth as it hung open, his tears mixing with the blood and salt water.
“We have to go! Come on Raz we have to get out of here! Come on!!!” Haniel pulled at his best friend to move.
They made their escape and the next few years were silent as they worked to honor the memory of the falsely ever happy, deceit filled bubbly merangel, Haniel having blocked out Salsa’s confession to do so. Shaking those thoughts from his mind, he sighs and reaches up to pet his sleeping feathercom who was sprawled out ontop of his head. Could he tell Dag his own feelings before it was too late? He seriously doubted it, if he did that, he would be breaking God’s laws.
___
Dagiel
___
"Dagiel! Dagiel!" a little round headed, happy faced creature, Dagiel's feathercom, dressed in a piece of seaweed with green-blue hair, wiggled his way up onto the rock Dagiel was resting on.
"Yes? What is it?" He asked this as he looked at it with a smile. The feathercom hopped onto his shoulder and held up a shiny seashell, it was pink and had black flecks of color across it.
"Your next assignment is to make the microorganisms that reside in these waters Master Dagiel!" The Feathercom proudly displayed a holographic screen out of it's tiny hands. The screen displayed the different creatures Dagiel was to make. He smiled and nodded, petting his Feathercom on the head.
When he was done with his daily tasks, his Feathercom asleep on his chest, Dagiel floated in the tropical oceans. He smiled, staring up at the night sky and he patted his tail fin against the water. The merangel's long seafoam green hair flowed around him like a robe as he rose up to sit on a rock, holding his Feathercom against his chest.
His sea otters clambered up beside him and one, Blippu, clambered up his arm to his shoulder and hugged his face. He put his river otter Feathercom, Ariel, now shifted to his animal form, in his hair. A few moments later, Ariel was curled up in the sea foam green of Dagiel's hair, dangling by one foot and snoring quietly.
Chuckling he plucked Blippu up and lifted him into the air. “Are you having fun? You and the others didn’t have to come with me ya know?” The sea otter chittered and clapped as Dagiel placed him back in the water on his back. “I know I know, you’re very excited to travel, but aren’t these waters too warm you all?'' The otters shrugged and dove in and out of the water happily. The merangel chuckled again, reaching down to run his fingers through Keepu’s fur, who moved his tiny hands to grip Dagiel’s finger.
“You can’t keep my finger Keepu. Here.” he handed the otter a sea shell. Taking it the little creature chittered and dove into the water. The male smiled brightly as he slipped back into the water. Rolling onto his back he floated with the otters. His eyes opened and he went back to staring at the sky.
He really missed Haniel and Salsa, mostly Salsa, but he knew he wouldn’t see him. Not for another few hours, even after he got back. His mission out here was important and he took it very seriously. Diving into the water he went back to making tropical fish and other creatures.
He smiled as he fused their colors together and breathed life into them using God’s power. Dagiel was happy to help the waters bring new life to itself. He created every small organism that flowed in the water, every tiny snail, plankton and fish. He began work on the aquatic mammals next. His otters played and climbed onto his head and tail as he worked.
The merangel laughed and played with them when not working. His job was intense but important and he couldn’t wait to get home, home to welcome Salsa back with hidden embraces and stolen kisses beneath the waves.
He thought back to the fact his Metflet was still in The Heaven unable to come with the Axia. He was a kind man who never really took the time to pay attention to all the The Heaven wide buzz about the Axia core. He was quiet and mild mannered, his Metflet was a wonderful creature. Dagiel also knew why he had never been an Axia Called. the fact that his Metflet was blind, which made him imperfect. Only those perfect angels were allowed to leave The Heaven after all. Dagiel floated there, after creating a series of small tropical fish.
The merangel once again found himself staring up at the sky with an unreadable emotion across his face. He worried for his Metflet and all the other impefect angels still in The Heaven. Who knows what God has planned for us? He thought this while flicking his tail in and out of the water. His otters chittered while swimming around him. He didn’t think anything too bad was going to happen. Dagiel assumed that everything would remain just as boring as it always was, he pulled Ariel onto his chest as he floated and lifted his head up from the water. Reaching out to run his hand across the base of his tail, he sighed.
He really wished his Metflet had been perfect, interested in the Axia and had been allowed to come. He could not imagine what life was like for the imperfect angels, it hurt him to think that their imperfect status was keeping them from experiencing creating all life here. Even if his Metflet hadn’t been interested, he would have been forced to go anyway. Well, if he wasn’t imperfect that is.
Grumbling at this, Dagiel dove down into the water to clear his head. Eventually he grew bored and even sad creating things alone, he wished Salsa had been able to come with him, but for some reason he had been assigned as the guide for Haniel and Raziel. Dagiel's mission was his mission yes, but that did not stop him from being lonely, he just had to work.
Working was all that could be done and then he would be allowed to return to the death camp. Having company in the waves would have been a huge boost to his moral, his Salsa swimming alongside him, falling into other more, enjoyable pass times they had recently discovered in each other. He rubbed his belly as he though about it, hand moving to the mark on his neck. He and Salsa had explored each other's bodies in the most intimate ways possible right before his love had gone to collect Haniel and Raziel. Overall, Dagiel was terribly lonely and he missed his best friend and his beloved Salsa.
His best friend he knew had feelings for him, he also knew he was not Haniel's best friend, Haniel's best friend was most likely someone else. But he could never feel the same, he was in love with Salsa, to the extent of disregarding the strict rules set in place by God.
He knew God would never approve, but he couldn't bring himself to care. He wanted to be with Salsa but he knew it would be a difficult task, with Haniel constantly hovering over Dagiel as if his advances were welcomed. Working up the courage to speak to his friend, tell him he just wasn’t interested, was overwhelming him. He would gather himself together soon, work up the will to properly reject Haniel’s feelings in a way he felt would not hurt him that badly.
He really needed the break, even though it had been a few years since Haniel had seen him off on his mission. Dagiel had been given word that Haniel’s own ten-year mission long was running smoothly. He pretended to care, to smile even when Lariel gave him the report, but on the inside, he could only think of Salsa.
The merangel had been kept updated by Salsa, the younger of the two stealing kisses in between each report. But then the updates stopped all of a sudden, Salsa stopped visiting him. Dagiel was left feeling like he had no way of breathing. He was trapped in a constant inner freak out over Salsa’s safety, and if he was being hit on by Raziel in the deepest parts of the oceans; he knew there were parts of the seas even merangels had to have a bit of extra help with entering.
He sighed and swam back up to the surface, thoughts of his pink haired beloved filling his mind. God above he missed Salsa, Salsa could not come with him because he was escorting fucking Haniel and Raziel…and now his hidden love was missing! The thought made his blood boil and he swam around in circles, creating different corals to try to forget his jealousy. Only a few hours left and then he and his otters could return to the main Creation Flock camp.
