“Enough.” Dagiel spoke as his seafoam green hair fell across the shorter angel. Haniel couldn’t help his blush as the tall, beautiful creature walked over to sit next to Lucifer’s bed, reaching a hand out to touch the newborn prince. “Dagiel! What are you doing here? You’re supposed to be doing the underwater vents tonight right?” Haniel mentally berated himself for allowing any form of emotion to enrapture him. He watched Dagiel move, as if he was the embodiment of the ocean waves themselves. He would never admit, he found his heart picked up the pace whenever the angel walked by him. Haniel wanted so badly to apologize for his words five moons ago, though it had been a year now, all that time ago. He wanted to take Dagiel into his arms and beg his forgiveness. He would never admit to even himself, that sometimes all he wanted to do was sit the beauty down and talk to him for hours on end.
The things he wanted to say, the things he wanted to do, by god, long seafoam green hair sprawled out beneath him. Dagiel’s eyes misted over with the utmost of pleasure... “Yes, but I wanted to witness the birth of the new prince.” Gone was his usual perky bubbly bitchy attitude. Right now, he was gravely serious and it tore at Haniel's very core to hear it as such. Dagiel’s voice, it was like the caress of the wind on a calm sea.
The sea gently lapping at the soles of the feet entered Haniel’s mind. Snapped out of his thoughts he quickly banished them, focusing hard on God’s word and repeating the mantra of the laws over and over again. He took a deep breath and one last longing look at Dagiel before sealing away his budding emotions for the other angel. Dagiel stared long at the newborn child, its short blue hair in tufts across its head. He noticed a small spot on the baby’s cheek, he smiled softly and pet it.
A smile spread across Dagiel's face, Ariel climbing onto his shoulder to giggle and celebrate in his own quiet little way. “Not created by the cold unfeeling trap of God, but created by pure, unasking, unassuming love. Something that any of us would be lucky to experience.” Haniel frowned as he watched Dagiel, the taller male stared blankly at him, “You just don't understand at all Haniel.” Dagiel said simply as he stood up and walked out of the hut without another word. Haniel flipped out, as he sat there staring at the empty space once occupied by Dag.
“Thou shalt place no other near or above God, thou shalt never hold love for anything but God, Thou shalt respect all of God’s creations, Thou shalt never allow any to enter thy heart but God, Thou shalt not kill God’s creations, Thou shalt never….” Haniel frowned deeply as he finished the last command at last, not interrupted by anything but the sound of his own heart shattering. “Thou shalt never love or lay with another angel in the way that god loves and lays with the proto-human virgin females…”
Maze shook his head as he stared at Haniel. “You’re a fool you realize, that right? Dagiel’s been in love with Salsa for years! He cared so much about Lucifer’s condition because that’s what he wanted, and he most likely got what he wanted from Salsa already, but you are too blind to see it!” Haniel covered his ears and tried to block out the words he didn’t want to hear.
Haniel froze as Asta entered and continued, “He’d been acting kinda off those days because he was one of the first ones to eat from the God Tree, the very day before you saved his life. But it wasn’t for you, he did it for Salsa, I see these things Haniel, even if you can’t or don’t want to face it” Asta stared at him with a scowl.
“Shut up, just shut up Asta!!” he turned furious eyes at the other angel, holding back his tears he clenched his fists as the familiar scent of Dag’s own misery washed over his senses. Maze shook his head in disgust at Haniel as Asta verbally attacked him again, his shoulder length blue hair a testament of his new found opinions..
“You’re such a fucking wimp, all you ever do is stand there rattling off the lord’s laws like some kind of sheep, as if nothing can harm you just so long as those words are in your mouth. You're so convinced that everything we are going through and feeling is wrong. You make me sick Haniel, you-” Asta was silenced as Haniel’s fist collided with his face. The sound of Haniel’s fist smashing into Asta’s face echoed around the hut but it did not wake the slumbering new family.
Breathing heavily, Haniel got up and ran out of the hut, he bolted through the darkened, freezing cold forest. He kept running until he was then out into the ice of the tundra area.
The land was still one large mass so reaching this place took a long time. Sitting on the rocks he normally conversed with Dag on out here he stared out at the crashing water. He didn’t know what he was going to do. His emotions spiraled around him, the wind picking up as he stared up at the sky in anger and pain. He would hit Asta again if the angel came anywhere near him.
___
Asta
___
Asta rubbed at his own face and chuckled. “He sure has a lot of nerve.” He said this as Maze walked over to him and pet his face.
He grabbed his mate’s hand pulled the other angel into his arms and held him close to his chest. “We will be fine, I hope, ok? Asta, it won’t really matter what happens to Haniel in the end, we can’t do anything to help him if he breaks God’s laws out there, you heard about when he broke the barrier around the castle and actually touched it?” Maze said this as he nuzzled against Asta. The blue haired angel nodded and kissed Maze’s head. “I know, so we should not try to get attached then I suppose. It doesn’t really matter overall, the only ones who will live are those who are destined to survive.”
“If he has what it takes to last, he will be fine. We won’t have to worry; we won’t have to fear that he will fall victim to what happened like our time on Lucifer’s old team.” Lucifer had long since woken up, he looked at their direction as they spoke to each other.
____
Lucifer
___
“Alchemion. He reminds me of Alchemion, not fully, Haniel will never have Dagiel‘s affections, his pity maybe, but not his love, that man loved me with all he was, he reached his realization point trying to woo me. And in reality, I would have taken him as a platonic partner, regardless of his sexual desire toward me. But my Mikha’el, my foolish love, how I hate that he sacrificed himself in killing Alche and taking the blame even though no one believed him.” He said this with a finality that made the other two look at him in shock. “That...so that’s the real reason you are hooked up to this machine?” Asta said this, looking at him with a deep-seated frown.
When Lucifer didn’t move after speaking Asta asked again. “Lucifer-ach, is this, is that…?”
The powder blue haired angel nodded. “Yes. I loved Mikha'el, yet hate him. Still do. That is why I was banished from God's graces. That is the real reason why. I tried to protect Alchemion from my twin, I let him know there was nothing wrong with my desires as we’d both touched the box that I found that had flowed forth from a wound in my side.”
He said this with a sad look on his features as the other two angels sat down next to him. They watched him as he moved his head in their direction. ‘We understand Lucifer-ach, the things you had to give up to come here were many. We know that with no doubts in any of our minds that you are the one we want to lead us into the future.” Asta said this as he took Lucifer’s hand. The other angels around bowed to him, touching his hand as well. Once every angel in the area that still lived had touched his hand he nodded.
“I accept this and I want you to know that as your ruler I will do what I can to protect you all from the terrible wrath that God deploys upon things she deems defective. I will not let you down!” The other angels spread their wings and flapped them once, beating their free hands into fists over their chests. Lucifer heard these things and a smile found its way to his face.
