After Mary, Jack & I talked I started driving back home to get ready to go to Percy's place. I had to talk to him... we had a bad break-up but that doesn't give him any reason to hurt Jack, none at all. Getting home, I changed clothes, wearing just a black tank top & hoodie with jeans; I grabbed my scythe & changed it into a key chain just in case. I got into my car to grab a hoodie & heard a deep sigh. "You're dumb." I glanced beside me to see a tan girl with a dark brown afro & black markings on her face. Black cat ears were coming out of the top of her head, along with a long black tail emerging from her back, turning grey as it gets longer. She wore a black crop top with a black skirt that had stars on it. She was adjusting her left leg, which was a prosthetic. "You know what'll happen if you go-" I looked at her, walking down the street; she wasn't wearing any shoes.

"Jackie... I know you're just worried about me."

"Then why are you going to this asshats place?"

"He... he hurt Jack ok?"

"Casket-"

"I have to do something!"

"Then what? You show up, go into shock, or worse-"

She stepped in front of me. "You fall for him again. You believe the lies he'll tell you. You'll take him back." I gripped my arm, digging my nails in until I bled. "Woah, woah, hey. Look I'm s-" "No... I get it. I know you're afraid, but I have to do this. Besides, I'm stronger mentally now." I stopped outside a nice house & took a deep breath. "We're here."

I rang the doorbell & knocked three times. Percy soon opened the door, in nothing but a towel. He saw me & smirked. "Hey there babe. Long time no s-" "We need to talk." I knew that the moment I looked into his crystal blue eyes, it'd be all over. He glanced at Jackie, now a cat, chuckling. "You always did bring the most irresistible pu-" "Say it & I'll chop it off." he sighed & moved out of the doorway so I could come in. "Let me get dressed. Have a seat." I sat on a couch as he left; Jackie immediately started talking. "Good thing he's too dumb to know you're a Reaper. You holding up ok?" I nodded, face flushing red. He came back out in a red hoodie & matching sweatpants; he sat on the opposite end of the couch. "So...I um..." I took a shaky breath. "I'm only here cause-" "Wait, Cas, before you say anything... I want to apologize." my breathing got more & more ragged the longer he talked.

"Cassidy, I'm so sorry."

No.

He's lying.

"You're... you're sorry?"

Don't look at his face.

"Yeah."

Liar.

In his eyes.

His voice.

I can tell.

"After all you've done to me... you think a simple 'sorry' can make up for it?"

I want it to.

Why did it happen?

"No... b-but listen, I've changed, honest!"

"I know that I hurt you & I can't forgive myself. But please... Cassidy-"

His voice cracked.

Percy grabbed my hands as Jackie hissed. "Give me one more chance... one more chance to be there for you... for us." Not the eyes... I looked into those eyes that I've missed so much... the last thing I saw before I fell... no. Before I was pushed. My body grew cold & I finally noticed it; my heart beat had stopped. "Percy... when I f... when you pushed me down the stairs, I died. You took my life away from me... but I came back." He smiled. "I'm thankful for that. When I heard that you had flat-lined, a part of me died too." I took my hands back. "But now you... you want me to come back to you? You expect us to kiss & make-up, like nothing ever happened to m-" I felt his lips on my own & I lost it; in addition to Jackie scratching his face, I shoved him off of me. I summoned my scythe unconsciously, something I haven't done since I was 5. He only stared at me, blood dripping down his face; I knew that he had seen the Reaper weapon. "Cas... what-" I grabbed Jackie & dissolved into shadows.

I formed in my room, now much paler than before. Images flashed in front of me. My clothes felt like they were choking me; I ripped them off, revealing a old wound, in the shape of a heart. It had been carved into my chest over my actual heart; my skin was taking on a blue color from the lack of oxygen. "Casket!" my mom burst into my room. Tears flowed down my cheeks as she hugged me. "It's ok... breathe baby... Jackie, get my charms." the cat ran off as I lost consciousness.

I woke up groggy, like I had a bad hangover. Blood was everywhere; the floors, walls, even the ceiling. I sighed deeply. "Nice going..." I glanced at my phone to see that I was getting a message... in Latin. "Great... just great." I got dressed & left the house in a rush.
