The boy´s demon starts circling Sarazeel, who isn´t moving an inch from the middle of the square. His opponent is brawny and his muscles seem to pulsate under the rising sun.
“I´ll kill you, Youngster. That will make for a little less dirt on the planet.”
He roars and tightens his circles around Sarah.
Peter comes up next to me, softly putting one hand on my shoulder.
“I know he pretends to be very strong, but what if he´s not? He really is incredibly young for a demon, isn´t he?”
I glance over into his brown, nervous eyes.
“What do you do if he actually kills him?”, he whispers, as though he is afraid to even speak of it.
I take a deep breath.
“There´s nothing I can do. I know he brought this upon himself. We´ll just have to wait, and see.”
My head starts hurting again, with an annoying persistence. I do feel an underlying anger at Sarazeel for acting on his own, since he could easily be my ticket to a better life - and just as easily be burning it right now.
A united gasp goes through the crowd when the other demon finally attacks, obviously enraged about Sarahs stoic coolness.
His body starts transforming while he heads for my demon, but Sarah dodges him easily.
There is a sneaky, relaxed smile on his face. I can´t share this emotion, as I watch with horror how his enemy starts transforming into a bull – like monster. Horns grow on his head, his body turns black and enlarges as he falls down to his, now, hoofs. His clothes rip under the mass of the transformation, almost exploding and shooting little fabric pieces in all directions.
He´s attacking a lot faster this second time around, but yet again, Sarazeel just jumps out of his way in the last minute.
The bull – like creature almost storms into a part of the crowd and the students spread apart like frightened chicken. He´s breathing heavily and turns around, unaware of his surroundings.
“What do you think you´re doing?”, the Demon brews trough his snout. “Are you going to just run away from me this entire time until I get you?”
Sarazeels muscles play under his clothes and he smiles at his heavily breathing enemy. He glances over at me and I bite my lip full of conflicting emotions and a growing headache.
“You want this to be over quickly? Fine with me.”, he finally exclaims.
Then he suddenly charges at the demon. Now I notice how his body has transformed as well, his skin has become scaly, and his arms slightly longer.
With ease, he jumps at the confused bull like creature, wrapping his legs around his chest and tightening his arms at his neck.
I can see his eyes gleam with excitement, and a dark shiver runs down my neck once again.
The bull throws himself on his back, but he´s too slow. Like a little lizard, Sarazeel wanders with his movement, moving his arms and legs so fast, they are barely visible.
Now his enemy is on its back, while Sarah presses him down, burrying his knees into his stomach.
Obviously in distress, the Bull starts trying to hit my demon with his hoofs, but Sarazeel just wipes them aside.
I think.
Until I hear bones crack, so clearly and frightening in the awful silence that has fallen onto the battlefield.
The demon starts to roar and cry in pain, but Sarazeel doesn´t even seem to think about stopping.
He presses his hand into the enemy´s chest, causing him to choke and cough uncontrollably, while his broken arms uselessly dangle on both sites.
“Thank my master. Without her orders, I would be ready to rip your heart out and feed it to wild dogs.”
His eyes are almost more transparent than usual. It´s a truly horrifying sight.
“Enough!”; cries the bulls Master now, his voice breaking with fear. “Get your monster out of there! Get him away, please!”
My head is hurting with a persisting intensity. I can´t even think straight.
Sarazeel stares at me, and so does everyone else.
“Stop it, now...”, I manage to say, before my legs suddenly collapse beneath me.
The last thing I see before the light flashes before my eyes is Sarazeel finally jumping off the other demon´s chest.
