“Oh, I really wouldn’t know where to get Virgin’s Blood at all… But, if you want something pure, I would suggest going to that island there and find the stream.
Go to its source and collect some water there, that’s the purest thing these islands have to offer. It might work, don’t you think?”
The brave little girl had been following Mike, trying to give the best advice a little girl could give. It wasn’t exactly what they had set out to get, but since they had no better option, it would indeed be worth trying.
But first, they wanted to discover more about this weird new character that seemed to pop out of nowhere, just to give our heroes the final key that would unlock the missing path to their great quest.
“Thank you for the advice, little one. Say, if I could be so polite to ask, do you have a name?” Kim pondered, acquainting herself with this cute short stack. She was genuinely curious. It was the first time she was addressed in a polite manner, and she tried her best to return it.
Mo shrugged it off: “You don’t have to do that, you know? I like your bluntness! Name’s Mo! Yes, it’s a funny name, and no, I don’t know why I was called that. But I like it.”
The three of them smiled, happy that they got off on the right foot for a change. Mo and Mike shook hands, while Kim made a movement that could be seen as a form of salutation. Flames can’t shake hands. They just float. Basically she went up, then down, then up again. It was a fun sight.
Mo liked these two weird people, they didn’t judge her, it was a very welcome change! If these three could be friends, imagine the possibilities! What other unlikely groups could join together?
Once everything had been accounted for, Kim bluntly floated in to assure they were on the right path. She looked to Mo and asked: “All right, we need to go there right? Do you have an idea of how?”
She did. She grabbed Mike’s hand and motioned to the flame to fly along, leading them to a teeny tiny boat that was randomly parked on the sand about 15 minutes away.
“That’s my boat!” Mo declared. “We’ll take it, row to the island, and ta-dah! Purity for a mystic creature to take!”
Kim was a bit suspicious. How the Hell would such a Mega Bloks sized hunk of wood be able to hold that big, clumsy Demon? Does he even know how to make a boat move?
The little human girl didn’t seem strong enough to take them all to their destination, especially with those small arms of hers. Mike attempted to row but without the necessary knowledge completely failed.
So instead, he tried to recall the spell that was supposed to immobilize an enemy, since with him, it usually made things move. That would be useful here, wouldn’t it?
“Do you happen to have a bit of rope on you? I think I have all the ingredients except for that,” Mike asked.
Of course she did, it's a boat! Mo handed him the rope, causing Kim to raise an eyebrow. The Demon began chanting the spell. Once again, it didn’t work, but that’s exactly what he was aiming for.
Perfect! Off they go! Direction? What direction? It just... Moves.
Well done Mike!
Luckily for them, Kim had a bright idea and told the little girl to take the 'rowing thingy' and use it as a 'direction maker.'
More giggles and a split second later, Mo was found at the back of the boat doing as she was asked, ensuring that another catastrophe would be avoided.
Eventually our heroes landed, safely for once, on yet another sandy beach. They managed to extract themselves from the boat without breaking it or drifting it back to the ocean.
Mike was about to thank the child for her help when she took his hand again. Together, with a kick in their step and courage in their hearts, the three companions headed for the center of the island.
A couple of very intrigued raccoons followed behind, interested in the trio’s sudden arrival, and the idea that they might be in for a good laugh if they happened to tag along.
