Dear Meh-Sombá,
I heavy-heartedly address you after hearing the terrible news of what has happen. My soul is crushed and I would like to with you to express my solidarity and give you a big hug. However, as you know well, these are difficult times for us mystics. And the circumstances prevent me from meeting you in person.
I regret that our voice was ignored by so many when we spoke of the Legalists. Sometimes I feel that our struggle against them was in vain, and only caused more suffering. I meditate about this while I play my kora, seeking to understand. But the fight is never over, and must continue somehow. I understand some of us insist in staying and rising their voices agains the rule of the Legalists, but I no longer have the will for it. I feel that, and I think, the Republic is no longer my place. I must leave it and find myself.
I hope you are not saddened by my departure, but I decided - and I am aware I may not return - to leave the Republic and know and understand the world below. The life in platform 12 is not bad, but I no longer fit here.
I heard from other comrades that there is a plan for our group to go into exile. I fear what an isolation can do to us, who always sought to understand the other. That is why this project has no appeal to me. But I know you have a brilliant mind and will contribute much wisdom to this.
I hope our paths meet again one day, I will forever keep you and all brothers and sisters that walked with us close to heart.
