When I was a kid, my father had me stand beside a pillar and marked my height on it. I don't know if it's universal.
October will also be busy month, but I'll draw as much as I can. I had to work for the print version last week because the proof I received from a print house has many problems. I'm waiting for the new proof coming from England now. Hopefully I can received its actual copies in mid Oct.
Yes marking a board on a wall is definitely universal! Mine stopped too early, at 5 feet! When I was about 15. My sisters and brother are such taller than me.
The story is set in a small town in Japan in the mid 90’s. Two male teachers meet in a middle school. Yashiki is an impulsive, unmotivated, and irresponsible young teacher who runs away from any commitment in his life. When Hinagishi - a devoted, responsible head teacher - ends up with Yashiki as his assistant, conflict is inevitable.
This is all about love, responsibility and commitment. I wanted to depict a romantic relationship between two ordinary men along with the daily life of mid 90’s Japan.
