I waited another 30 mins for the next bus. I'm so mad at that woman. If I was only able to catch that bus I'll be home by around 9pm, but here I am still waiting.

I came home 10PM. I'm tired and irritated so I head straight to sofa and open our television. I wanted to rest for a while before taking a bath.

Flash report: BUS ACCIDENT 

My body went numb. That is the bus I'm supposed to ride on.

"I'm protecting what is mine." 

"I'm protecting what is mine." 

"I'm protecting what is mine." 

Those words kept echoing on my head. Then I felt a sudden chill.

'This is crazy. She's crazy. I'm not crazy' I murmur

"It's just coincidence" I said

"Devlin?" Mom said

"Ah, yes Mom?" I try to sound cool

Since Dad left my relationship with Mom got worse. I don't know why but it feels like there's a big wall between us.

"Talking to yourself again?" she ask curiously 

I walk towards the fridge to get a water; or maybe to distance myself from her. She always think I need some mental medical assistance. Since our family fell apart I started focusing on school. I even got a part time job just to make an excuse to stay out of our house. 

Mom thought talking to self is some kind of a mental illness. I tried explaining it to her but she didn't care. 

"Uhm. No, I'm just thinking something and I just happen to say it aloud." I simply said

"Devlin, honey you know you can always talk to me. Dr. Hopkins says it's healthy to have a mother and son talk once in a while.." she said

"No. I mean yeah sure next time maybe not today. I'm tired. Good night, Mom." I kissed her on cheek

I feel bad. But I'm not in the mood to play the mom-and-son-talk-session. I know she's trying but I really don't feel anything. 

After bath I heard our telephone rang so I decided go down and pick the phone. Mom's already in her room. I can hear her speaking to somebody. 

'Maybe the rumors are indeed true' I said to myself

"Hello" I said

"You're welcome." said by a woman voice on the other line

"I'm sorry..?" puzzled I ask

"I heard that is the custom here. You say 'Thank you' and I say 'You're Welcome'" she said

"Anyway you don't have to say 'Thank you' that's not gonna help. I'm calling because I wanted to tell you to take care. Lets have breakfast tomorrow." she added

This voice sounds familiar. It can't be 'that' woman.

"Yes, it is me" said by the voice on the other line.

"I'm watching you." she added

"Bye." 

and the line got disconnected.
