Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine could've been better, honestly.
Okay, I promised to talk about the pictures in the frames this week!
What I'm doing with that is basically what normal people do with photos. They take pictures of their friends and family and stick 'em up around the house and guests fawn over them at holiday parties. It's pretty much the same thing with Lilith's family only there are a LOT of pictures because everyone on this page has been alive for a REALLY long time and many of the people in the photos are dead at the current point in time in the comic. So they're little memorial photos of good friends/important people from their lives for the most part. There are some pictures of living people and family photos and things like vacation photos and the like.
There is one person that has a lot of large photos because she was a really important member of the family and she'll show up later in the comic. Actually quite a few pictures would be paintings because Lilith, Lex, and Etzy were all alive before the invention of photography so paintings/drawings were the only way to have an image of someone.
So that's the story of the loads of pictures in the past few pages. Family memories, something I only experienced when I lived with my mom. At my dad's the photos were only kept on a little bookcase type thing and they were always hidden behind things and shoved at the back of the shelves so no one really saw them. My mom was the one with the giant picture frames that held like 20 photos of my brother and I when we were tiny and things like that.
This page was really hard to draw because of all those photos though. I tried to keep them all simple, just blobs of color that look like people, but there were just so many. The lighting looks a bit too intense for being indoor lighting during the day tho, I might have to go back and tone it down a bit.
Remember who you... I mean; remember the rules. (amplified by the rule on the wall) He also looks so tired, does he have insomnia or is he just no morning person?
Xenobiosis is a fantasy-adventure story about Lilith and her journey to find her angel mother and demon father, who abandoned her long ago. Along the way she is joined by a gallery of distinctive characters including two humans, a witch, and a mermaid. The story takes place on a distant planet, full of unique flora, fauna, and landscapes; which Lilith and her friends encounter along with the diverse people who live there.
